If no codes are set, run some tests. Fuel pressure? when failing do you still have nice fat blue spark at plugs (don't check this by holding wire near a ground as this could damage elect. system)? What do you do to get it to start?

Next time get a car that doesn't have so many electronics on it. The more there is of that, you will always have a problem. Try the fuses. Open the door panel and look at all of the wiring. That's all I have.

Did you manage to solve your problem? I have a X5 with the same engine that cranks but doesn't start. Only occurs when car as been up to temp & then left until temp gauge shows approx 1/4. 5-10 minutes later starts fine???

use this link and look up your model and enter cigarette lighter fuse and you will get the electrical diagram and the location of the fuse and number

check Amplifier located in the trunk, most likely is out, from water damage or just burned out, it's a common problem in the 3 burns, 6 water, and 7 series. the circuit must be complete for the sound to come on, if you have a malfunction in any component, cd, radio,nav, or phone the sound will not come on.

Sounds like an alternator problem. A bad diode can drain the battery(feed back). Replace alternator and if battery is more than 3 years old replace it too. It takes 20 amps just to power the fuel injection. The Bosch alternator should be rated at 100 amps or better. Low output will affect everything you described. Perform an OBDII scan for a look at stored faults. Let the scan be a guide to any other problems that may be present

Bad socket, bad ground, poor connection at some spade connector.

If you have a multimeter remove and test the fuses for continuity (OHMS) as fuses can look OK but they have blown. If your replacing fuses ONLY replace the with one of the Same colour and Amp rating.
