My 2002 bmw 745li is over heating every time i drive it dnt kno wat the problem is nd wen this happened the stereo went out any suggestions on the fix...plze help

For the radio I would suggest checking the fuse For the overheating the most common reason is the thermostat in the cooling system. They wear out over time and sometimes get stuck in the closed position. The next time it does it park the vehicle somewhere safe, Turn OFF the engine and open the bonnet. **Be careful with this next suggestion as you will be touching something VERY HOT.** Look for the large black hose going into the top of the radiator. CAREFULLY touch ONLY the hose. If the thermostat is working it should be VERY hot! If it is only slightly warm get the thermostat changed.

I have a 2006 BMW 5 Series 530i 4d sedan, how can we adjust the idle speedrpm

Your engine is controlled by the PCM. The idle can be adjusted by entering the computer system using INPA with a K+DCan cable, or the BMW diagnostic system. If by chance it's too high, look for a vacuum leak. Generally speaking if you are careful, you can use a can of carb cleaner (carefully) by spraying a small amount at a time near the vacuum hoses and the intake manifold of a vehicle to find the leak. As the carb cleaner is drawn into the engine the car will change idle speed to help you zero in on any leaks. Too low then there must be a fuel/air issue and you should have a code present. Good luck:)

My 2009 bmw 328i with 74.000 have the code p1774,

Why would you change the crankshaft position sensor on a code for the brakes/transmission? P1774 code description Low Coast Brake Solenoid Valve is turned "ON" or "OFF" by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in response to signals sent from the Park & Neutral Position (PNP) Switch, Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), and Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor (Throttle Position Sensor). Gears will then be shifted to the optimum position. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will set when the Low Coast Brake Solenoid Valve does not respond from the TCM signal. 2004 bmw x5 is stuck in 4 wheel drive

Hello. It seems your B.M.W.'s PCM (Powertrain Control Module), inadvertently, 'engaged' 4WD on it's own; without your knowledge. Disconnect your Beemer's battery and wait 10-15 minutes then reconnect it. Start engine and drive your Beemer somewhere. If it stays in 4WD, then, another 'reboot' has to be done. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

I have a BMW X3..2004 model the problem is ,1 I can not find any licks but water get finished. 2. Oil light flashes and it use 5 litres of engine oil 3 it smoking when accelerating ?

Mr. Nkosi. for the BMW X3 2000 over engines there is an issue with their engines. The threads on the cylinder block where the compression gasket and cylinder head torqued just pull off and lost the correct tightening torque and starts the problems with loosing water or burning oil etc. Ask you mechanic to do a search about it and also check your engine for this possibility.

On a 2008 bmw 328xi it acts like it has no clutch how do i check master cylinder or slave cylinder or know the clutch has to be replaced a clutch line was stolen with the slave cyl since were replaced

Mr Thomas. Since you renewed the master and slave clutch cylinders and do have pressure to release clutch but not engaged, means that either you have broken driven clutch plate or pressure plate broken. Means you need new clutch.

I have a 2004 range rover vogue, with the 4.4 BMW V8. Before leaving Sydney for Brisbane I replaced all the spark plugs as #7 was missing.

Mr Hans. You said replaced the sparks as no7 was missing or missfiring. I take it for missfiring. Now you removed 8 ht leeds and removed and renewed 8 spark plugs. Possible cause of the random missfiring you have is, either not properly clicked the leeds to the spark plugs, or your leeds are old and by removing them are cracked, or slightly moved from the distributtor cap. Check for these issues. To disconnect the battery is not the solution. I believe you have HT leeds issue.

Installed an afterm ultra power intake cam sensor on my bmw 325i. Car starts initially then won't start. Took out and reinstalled original and at least it starts. Why is the new sensor not working?

Mr.Ramage as an Automotive mechanic with many years experience happened and still happening this issue for a new electronic part to work for just once and never again,or just bought put on not working and try for another one. Mostly the aftermarket parts - not all - depends where come from are on balance to good and no good. Are Electronics. The same happened with tvs, mobiles, toys etc.

2004 BMW x3 won't attempt to start...

Mr Goforth. I just read your question. what you have scanned fault codes have nothing to do with your today issue. Since you tried starting the car by jumping the battery tapping the starter motor with negative results, I advice you to check whether you might face : a) not clean to contact battery terminals, b) no good Earthing wiring, c) Ignition Fuse or Relay blown, d) Ignition switch lock not working. Good Luck.

I keep adding engine oil on my 2006 BMW 530i, engine has no leaking. Any help?

Check exhaust smoke color when engine hot. If there is white smoke, there may be oil in the pipes. Means the valve seal is leaking oil into the cylinder. Another way to check is to look at the spark plug tips. If is full of soot like burnt oil then the oil is leaking into the cylinders. If yours is E60 turbo, check the presence of residue oil in both the exhaust and intake turbine. If there is, the oil seals in the turbo housing is leaking oil. They do sell service kits for turbos.
