Check first to see if the brake lights work, the brake light circuit is what powers the Park safety lockout solenoid. If no brake lights then it will not come out of park position.

If you have a multimeter remove and test the fuses for continuity (OHMS) as fuses can look OK but they have blown. If your replacing fuses ONLY replace the with one of the Same colour and Amp rating.

no year car told at all. using voltmeter what is battery voltage at idle.? not told' 13. to 15vdc is par, if below the alternator is dead or its fuses blown. if ALT is dead, driving the car , far (30min) will make engine stall and be dead,until battery is jump started or charged. that lamp comes of a reason, it means fully load test the battery and test the alternator correctly check all fuses scan the OBd2 port with a scan tool for charge system errors. If the battery is bad,the alternator can in fact refuse to charge it. intermittent battery cell shorts or opens can do that. batteries over 7 years are , love to fail. get the service manual. the users guide does not cover relays. or 2 persons find it. one key start (cranking) other one finds the relay that clicks cranked bingo found, and can click even bad. Hi I have been told that the first thing to do is to check thr power steering fluid level, if not that then you should check that battery voltage is ok and alternator is working ok, hope this was some help all the best.
