Looking at the fuze box in a 1996 BMW 328i, the drivers seat adjustment fuse is #40. Where is the #40 fuze located?

Fuse box should look like the one shown on these pages: Fuse box diagram BMW 3 E36 http://bmw-e36.com/repair/8-bmw-e36-fuse-box-diagram-318i-1996.html The longer single row of fuses is #31-46 (46 is closest to the double row of fuses). Hope this helps!

Repair manual, try filepeep.com, or manualslib.com or local library or you will probably want one later, so most Autoparts stores carry them.

How i fix the headlight bulb always busted due to over current of alternator is that a relay problem? when i change with new bulb even if the engine is in idle and suddenly it will turn fast thats the

it is not the relay but the regulator that is allowing a surge of excess volts. this excess voltage increases the current and that is what is blowing the bulbs. Have the alternator bench tested along with the regulator.

P0340 fault code

Assuming you have a 1996 328i convertible based on your photo as there were no US 96 328is. It is located at the left front end of the the engine cylinder head under the plastic cover behind the VANOS solenoid next to the top of the oil filter housing. In addition to the new sensor, you will need new metal o-rings for the VANOS line, a new rubber o-ring for the camshaft sensor and perhaps a new socket head cap screw if you round out the internal hex trying to loosen this Loctited screw. See Figures 1 & 3 at the following Pelican Parts link. http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/101-Projects-14-Cam-Sensor/101-Projects-14-Cam-Sensor.htm
