2007 bmw 328i water pump problem
If it has an electric pump you should hear or see water flowing when car is turned on. If not, check any fuses or relays for the pump, and there is probably temp sensor controlling the pump. The main thing is to make sure any fuses and relays are working before tearing the pump out.

check the blower motor resister. This protects the fans and blower motor. Before fans come on the thermostat has to open at 192 degrees

Hi CadeYou are driving a possiable dangerous car as you have said Hazzardous yes, if it stopped on you and your on the Hiway you may have an accident. Therefore my opinion is it maybe your computer, crank and cam sensors, 02 sensors you may have 3 or more, your throttle position sensor or switch, your gas filters, dirty airfilters dealer can read codes and trouble shoot more precise BMW nice car needs maintence. You dont want to take any chances but you can try replacing airfilter gas filter is a good start.JOE
2007 bmw 328i water pump problem
If test gauges were hooked up to it after the light went ON then there may be a Diagnostic Code to identify the Electric water pump as the problem. Check out the AboutAutomobile.com site for any consumer complaints about your Brand and Year of car.
If there is no info there, it is not a freqent problem. But if it is listed, so are Resolutions. Another site which may help, if they list your Foreigncar, is Autozone.com. You register your car for free and then access the wiring diagrams and the Fusebox and Relay Layouts.
You may simple have a bad Electric water pump Relay. The Relay is triggered by a Temperature sensor. Often there are 2 sensors with the other operating the dash gauge. Just unplug the suspected sensor to see if it controls the dash gauge and once identified, replace the correct sensor.
Another area is the Cooling Fan. You should have a Engine cooling fan around the Radiator. This works with temperature and Relays. Sometimes the fan has 2 speeds and one can lose the high speed or booster fan settings. The Fusebox and wiring Diagrams will help to identify these parts. If your trouble lamp is on, sometimes Scanners at Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys can identify the problem. It is FREE to scan at these stores.I hope my solution is helpful.

Car wont pass emissons testing
The check engine light issue could be a faulty dash bulb or consul. It looks like you could do worse than get your car checked out on a diagnostic consul.Failing that, emissions failure is usually a fault of the engine not running at optimum. Is the air filter clean, air temperature sensors clean. Finally take it out for a good run to burn of any residues before checking emissions.
