Why do my 2003 bmw 745i vibrate while driving
several reason that should be checked.. Check for balance Check the condition of the tyres . check for sidewall bulges and belt separation. check the discs are not warped. check that the steering joints are not worn. Check cv joints ("u") joints in the drive shafts .Run the fault codes and check for engine misfire on a cylinder.. Check the wheel alignment. Check all pulley bearings and unit bearings on the motor that are belt driven. Check harmonic balancer if fitted.
Service engine soon light is on, and the codes its giving are f110p and 1891p
P1891 20500 System Voltage High Input
This fault sets when the alternator is failing. But instead of failing where the voltage is too low it is too high. This is just as bad if not worse than too low. Your 7 series is full of computers and when they see this high voltage they start to go into failsafe to protect themselves. The overvoltage could even cause modules(computers) to fail.
Some modules very effected by this is the DSC control unit, EGS Transmission control unit. This type of problem will come and go due to the alternator is intermittently overcharging.
Now there MIGHT be other things going on but it ALWAYS is a bad alternator with the overvoltage fault in my experience. This alternator is a bit hard to do so I do recommend having the dealer replace it. Make sure you tell them about the overvoltage and even this post as most tech's easily overlook this fault and go chasing the "failsafe" problem and never stop to look at the big picture --system voltage.
I hope this information is helpful. Please accept and let me know if I can help you further.Thank you.
Radio fuse keeps blowing
You have a short somewhere. You'll need to remove the system and test to figure out where the short is. It could be in the unit or in one of the wires leading to the unit.
