2011 Volkswagen Routan - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
2011 vw routan. rear air is blowing warm ,noise coming from back side panel.
I have had 1 van where it had rear air with controls in back also. I had work done on it several times. There was a fan for the rear air on my van on the drivers side before the driver side rear tire. the fan may be the noise you hear. As far as the charge goes It took more Freon to fill up the system because the lines ran to the back of the van. It cost more because of the extra Freon also. When it says charge accordingly I think they are saying that this van will not hold as much Freon because the back system has been disabled(may have capped or plugged the lines to the back.. One more thing the A/C compressor cost about twice as much as a regular one because of the size of the system.
My 2011 VW ROUTAN WONT EVEN TURN OVER AND I JUST REPLACED THE BATTERY
It is often the case that the battery cable ends have developed a coating of corrosion and must be sanded or wire brushed. Even if they look pretty good, rough them up with something to insure they make good contact. If this doesn't work, you may have a bad starter solenoid.
VW Routan, 2011 - Why does it continue to turn over and over when trying to crank and then sometimes stall in traffic?
First off, have the vehicles computer scanned for any pending trouble codes that may point you in the right direction, especially if the check engine light is on or has been on. If no light ever on, the computer can still store a soft code that will not turn light on but yet store a code in it's history. If the engine cranks over and over in the morning you may have a possible fuel pump issue and the fuel pressure is draining back into the tank overnight. This will cause an extended crank in the morning till the fuel pressure builds up enough to start the engine. You can turn the key on and off a couple of times without starting in the morning to see if this helps. Doing this primes the fuel pump thus supplying pressure quicker. If this seems to correct the problem, you may be in need of a fuel pump in the near future.

3rd row left side won't
Yes, the diagnostic is correct - the hinges have rusted and they seized. The fix on the other hand is not very cost effective: you don't need to replace the hinges, you can unseize them with some WD40 and a rubber mallet.
Hit the hinge with the mallet to break its rust layer and spray the WD40 on it, plenty of it. Wait a few hours to let the solvent penetrate the rust then hit it again and try to move it at the same time. Do that until the seat moves well, wait a day then add some fine oil on the hinge them move it to allow the oil to fully penetrate.
You will need to repeat the oiling at least once every 2 months or the hinge will seize again, this time for good.

Touran horn not working changed
A horn circuit first must have power so check your fuse. Then it goes through the horn switch (on the steering column) then through the horn relay and then to the horn itself.
If you changed the horns did you check to find out IF the horns were getting DC voltage to them first? If you don't, then it is either the switch or the relay.

I have a radle sound
these are kind of tricky on the VWs as you will need to remove the steering wheel. There are a few screws and bolts that need to be removed from the bottom dash, on the drivers side, and then work your way up, after removing that there will be a series of screws on the mid column of the dash, and a few behind the blanks that need to be popped out. by this point you will see the screws that are under the upper portion of the cluster trim and the 2 that are on the bottom. after these are removed you will see the screws for removing the cluster. Also you will need a 26mm socket to remove the steering wheel.

Hi, my husband is in
This describes the oil level indicator lamp. Adding oil ....from VW preferably, should make it go out.
If the lamp is the service reminder lamp the hand book should describe how to reset it. Failing that, look up an independent shop for help. Most European shops have a book describing how to reset oil service reminder lamps etc.
Having traveled Italy extensively I found shops and dealerships quiet helpful and someone there usually speaks English if you have no Italian.
At http://www.iatn.net/shopfinder/ you can search for a shop for him.
