Suddenly the remote keys don't unlock the car

A common problem is the button switches on key fob circuit board have broken their soldering point. If you have (or know someone technical with) a FINE point soldering iron, the switches can be resoldered. This may not fix the your problem. If not, you need a new fob (try Amazon.com) Read up your owners manual on the procedure to reprogram the security system for new fobs. The process is tedious and usually takes some effort to the procedure to work.

2010 subaru forester engine cuts out

consider this when at the stop lights , you will have your foot on the brake as it will still be in drive or in gear and you don't want the car to move a simple test is to apply the hand brake to stop the car and don't touch the foot brake if it idles ok but cuts out when you apply the foot brake , replace the brake booster as it has a vacuum leak that is causing the problem you can do this test in the garage by starting in neutral and allowing the engine to idle , then apply the foot brake iof it dies it is the booster

The running lights on my 2010 forester will not shut off. all information I find is to turn off the switch on top of steering column, but I have no switch on mine and can't find one anywhere.

Subaru dropped the 'virgin switch' on top of the steering column, not sure when. If the rotating light switch at the end of the turn signal stalk on the column is fully rotated to OFF - and the running lights are still on, you may need a dealer or mechanic to look for a bad relay or possibly a short somewhere. Sometimes wires go bad in the boot to the hatch - leading to odd electrical problems. Certain type of dual element bulbs can cause issues too. Double check that none of the light assemblies have collected water.

I have accidentally put petrol into my turbo deisel forester, it now has 30 % petrol in the tank, will this cause any damage and will I be ok if I start to run down the fuel and add more deisel ?

Yes, this can damage the engine, do not run the vehicle. You need to drain the tank completely, as well as drain the lines and may even change the fuel filter.

What does this mean

The lights will illuminate for two seconds when the ignition is turned to the on position The lights will turn on and then off when the engine is started The lights may come on and stay lit after the engine has started then turns off when the vehicle reaches about 25 mph / 40 kph The lights may come on during driving but then turn immediately off. - - However, do not hesitate having the computer codes and system checked by your Subaru specialist. Good luck.

I have a 2010 subaru forester that i cannot refuel when check engine light is on

Although I have never encountered this issue on my own 2010 Forester, I would say that this may be a fuel system problem with a sensor or component. The place to resolve this is at a Subaru service department.

Can't put gas into my 2010 subaru forester

Having same issue with my 2010 subaru - seems common although the dealer refuses to admit it. P0453 CEL code indicates a problem with the EVAP - this came on a few days before I was no longer able to refuel. THey say I need a new Fuel Tank Pressure sensor. Essentially the fuel tank valve is closed, when it should be open when the ignition is off. Wating 4 days for the part, hopefully thats what it is. WHat ended up fixing your problem Tom?

Can't put gas into my 2010 subaru forester

if the gas gauge reads empty it might be not working properly, and the tank could actually be full. I've seen this time and time again at my station over the past twenty some years. The other posibility could be an obstruction in the filler neck it self. Kids do the darndest things to cars ? LOL. If thats the case then there is Two hose clamps that hold it in place, usually a screw driver or a small socket will work. But first stick a peice of hose in there and try blowing through the hose and listen if you hear bubbles then its full if you hear just air then its empty and blocked. Good luck :- )
