try a battery reset.ie. disconnect battery neg terminal and leave 10mins reconnect and retry lock and unlock then see if the smart key is regonized if not check the smart key battery specialy the contacts it may be the key is not been reconized but if it cranks but not start may be a engine management system or fuel delivery problem if it has asked to insert smart key the key battery is poss flat.
If you are thinking puling out the fuse and keep driving big mistake.
engine lights are there to warn you there is a problem with your engine eg;sensor, air leak, etc I would suggest strongly that you have a diagnostic test to find the fault or risk your engine blowing.
Every car that I have ever owned, the flasher is under the dash on the drivers side. You have to reach up under the dash, by laying on the floor. It unplugs by pulling it out. Then plug the new flasher back in and you are done.
I have a VERY similar problem and I have a possible solution which I have not yet tried, but am going to try it as soon as I buy the parts. I'm going to purchase some double-sided tape (sticky on both sides) and put it around the edge of a CD. I am going to stick that CD in the CD player trying to "grab hold" of the piece of paper in my CD player. I'm going to be careful so as not to push it in so far that the CD gets "pulled in" to the CD player, since I don't know if that tape might damage something further inside. I'll try to post my results, but if you try it first, you let me know your level of success. --thanks
.will look the size of a can of soup try under the back near the fuel tank or under the front of the jag . usually requires a special fuel filter removal tool note real men dont use correct tools front rear near tank
fit the cheap chinese ones ,as good as anything .here in spain they crack on the sidewalls before they wear out so i use the cheapies ,mine are 16s but 98W speed rating ,expensive for a clapped out XJ6 1994 4.lt that only goes to the costa blanca jaguar owners meetings.
This is the automatic speed limiter in newer Jaguars. It is a feature used by the driver to prevent exceeding a set speed. Once the feature is turned on using the ASL button, the actual speed at which the feature will limit you and prevent any further acceleration is set using the cruise control rockers.
