I have a 2010 Hyundai Sonata 6 speed manual trans. the clutch ie slipping can it be adjusted or does it need to be replaced?
. It's entirely possible that a component failed. For instance, if the clutch pressure plate failed, then the clutch pedal will feel very spongy and can cause the car to slip and be very difficult to shift. If it has a dampened flywheel, and that fails, then the car may lose the ability to go anywhere. It will go into gear fine, but will not move forward. If a clutch release lever failed, it may no longer release the clutch enough to allow gear changes, though slipping would be minimal. A failing hydraulic component could also cause the clutch to fail very quickly. Based on the symptoms, I think that the pressure plate has failed, but it's impossible to say for sure without seeing the car in person. You should have a qualified technician inspect your car
2.4 liter, timing belt or timing chain?
Timing belt. This engine is an interference engine. Ensure the belt is replaced before it breaks to prevent internal engine damage. If replacing it as a DIY project, be sure to follow all procedures carefully as improper procedure can also result in valve or piston damage. If the belt has already broken, the odds are better than 90% that the cylinder head will need to be repaired or replaced and the pistons will need to be inspected for damage.
Where canister sonata
im quoting another The Canister Is located on the rear drivers side under the car (Big black box with 3 rubber lines). And the purge valve is located on the in the center on the back of the intake manifold (2 rubber lines and 1 plug).
Battery on my 2010 sonata reads 12v. but car will not start
First put a full charge in the battery...It takes about 13.5 volts to properly start you car due to starter load..Your 12 volt battery will show 12 volt no matter the state of charge..you must have it load tested...meaning how many volts the battery is putting out under load " starter engaged " a weak cell will cause failure of this test.. any of tne auto parts stores will test it for you...good luck
Where is the fuel reset button on a 2010 Hyundai
most fuel reset button will be located in the trunk of the vehicle behind or under the carpet or it could be a wire with a small handle on it. it should also be tagged fuel reset. they sometimes place them under the passenger side dash. up behind the passenger floor board kickpanel. good luck
Heat gauge reads hot but engine is not hot.
There may be two heat or temp sensors, one for the gauge, and one for the computer. You could also have damaged insulation on the wire leading from the sensor to the gauge. You should be able to ground the wire on the engine, and the gauge should shoot to HOT very quickly, if the wire and gauge are good AND you are on the correct sensor.
