Why is my car trowing
Oh no! I'm sorry to tell you this but it's serious. That white smoke is actually smoke and steam. Check your radiator for oil. White smoke is indicative of a blown head gasket. If you are mechanically inclined you can try to repair it yourself, but it's a huge job. As a matter of fact, some cars, if you can't repair yourself, some people have to junk it. What is required to fix this is an entire breakdown of the top side of the engine. Throttle body, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, spark plugs, emissions, valve covers, overhead cam<-I believe it's overhead, if not, rocker arms, pushrods and lifters. Remove the head, take it to a machinist and have it steamed and milled. Buy top end rebuild kit. If you are going to replace this head gasket, you may as well rebuild the top end. You actually could try a salvage yard and buy an entire engine and have it delivered to your garage of choice and pay to have it put in. Sorry for the bad news. If you continue to drive it temporarily, just remember that you are losing oil into the radiator and coolant out the exhaust pipe. Check and fill it daily as necessary.

Are you sure the engine is not grounded? Could be the starter relay. To make sure it is not a ground problem use a battery jumper cable and connect the engine to the negative battery post. Also make sure the battery did not lose its charge while working on the belt. Possible key left on.
My 2003 Cadillac CTS key stuck in the ignition and the gearshift is stuck
Is it stuck in the engine "off" position?
1.) Check your car battery. If it's very low or dead, it may be preventing the ignition from unlocking. If it's low or dead, charge it and try again.
2.) If the battery checks out okay, press firmly on the "S" button (sport mode) next to the gear shifter. Surprisingly, that somehow solves the issue sometimes.
3.) If that doesn't work, there may be a problem with the ECM. But try the two steps above first as needed, and if that doesn't work, feel free to post back.
How can I get into my 2002 Cadillac DeVille's glove box. It appears to be locked and I don't have the master key, just the valet key.
If you're having trouble accessing your 2002 Cadillac DeVille's glove box because it seems to be locked and you only have the valet key, here are a few steps you can try:
- Check for a Separate Valet Key Slot:
- Some vehicles have a separate valet key slot inside the glove box. Insert the valet key into this slot, turn it, and see if it unlocks the glove box.
- Inspect for a Release Button:
- Examine the perimeter of the glove box for a hidden release button. Some glove boxes have a button or latch that may not be immediately visible.
- Use the Main Ignition Key:
- Even if you primarily use the valet key, try using the main ignition key to unlock the glove box. Sometimes, the valet key may not have the same features as the main key.
- Check the Owner's Manual:
- Refer to the vehicle's owner's manual for specific instructions on unlocking the glove box. It may provide information on alternate methods or features specific to your Cadillac DeVille.
- Contact the Dealership:
- If none of the above steps work, consider contacting your Cadillac dealership. They may be able to provide guidance on unlocking the glove box or assist with obtaining a replacement key.
- Professional Locksmith:
- If all else fails, you may need to consult a professional locksmith. They have tools and expertise to help unlock car compartments, including glove boxes.
Remember to avoid using excessive force as it may damage the glove box. Additionally, make sure you have proof of ownership and identification when seeking assistance from the dealership or a locksmith. If your vehicle has an electronic locking mechanism, it's essential to rule out any electrical issues or malfunctions as well.

Turn Signal Lamps
The TSIG/HAZ fuse in the rear fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the flasher module. The module is part of the hazard switch assembly. The flasher module has ground at G201. The turn signal lamps may only be activated with the ignition switch in the ON or START position. The IGN-1 fuse in the rear fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the turn signal switch. When the turn signal switch is placed in either the left or right position, current flows from the turn signal switch assembly to the flasher module. The flasher module then sends an on-off voltage signal to either the left or right turn signals and their instrument cluster (IPC) indicator. When the hazard switch is pressed, the switch contacts are close and the turn signal/hazard flasher module hazard input is grounded. In response to this input, the turn signal/hazard flasher module supplies battery positive voltage in an on and off flashing pattern to all the turn signal lamps. This also activates both turn signal indicators. When a THEFT is occurring, the DIM grounds the turn signal/hazard flasher module hazard input. The left turn signals have ground at G401 and at G402. The right turn signals have ground at G401.
I have a 09 Cadillac cts my dome lights not turning off
If the dome lights in your 2009 Cadillac CTS are not turning off, it can be a frustrating issue. Here are some steps to diagnose and potentially fix the problem:
1. **Manually Turn Off the Dome Lights:**
- In most vehicles, including the Cadillac CTS, there's typically a manual switch on or near the dome light itself. Ensure this switch is in the "Off" position.
2. **Check for Open Doors:**
- Make sure all doors, including the trunk and the hood, are completely closed. Sometimes, a door ajar can prevent the dome lights from turning off.
3. **Interior Light Dimmer Control:**
- Check the position of the interior light dimmer control, which is usually located on the headlight switch or dashboard. If it's turned all the way up, it may keep the dome lights on. Adjust it to the lowest setting.
4. **Ignition Switch:**
- Ensure the ignition switch is in the "Off" position. Sometimes, if the ignition switch is left in the "Accessory" position, the dome lights may stay on.
5. **Faulty Door Switches:**
- Each door usually has a door switch that signals the lights to turn on when a door is opened and off when it's closed. One of these switches may be malfunctioning. You can try manually pressing and releasing each door switch to see if the lights respond.
6. **Battery Disconnect and Reconnect:**
- If the above steps don't work, you can disconnect the vehicle's battery for a few minutes and then reconnect it. This can sometimes reset the electrical system and resolve the issue.
7. **Consult the Owner's Manual:**
- Refer to your Cadillac CTS owner's manual for specific information about the dome light controls and troubleshooting tips.
8. **Professional Diagnosis:**
- If the issue persists, it may be related to a more complex electrical problem. In this case, it's advisable to consult a professional mechanic or an auto-electrician to diagnose and repair the problem.
It's important to be patient and methodical when troubleshooting this issue, as it can have various causes. If you're not comfortable working on the electrical system of your vehicle, seeking professional help is a wise choice to avoid further complications.
