2010 Cadillac SRX - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
2010 Cadillac SRX want go faster than 40 what can be the problem
Check the silly stuff first like any speed limiter and cruise control settings. Yes, I've done that! Do you have any warning lights on the dashboard? If the vehicle is restricting your speed it could be that the vehicles engine diagnostics has picked up on an issue it has listed as 'serious'. I would suggest you get the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic system or an OBD2 scanner to look for trouble codes. These give clues as to what the issue could be. If you have to pay for this service get quotes at 4 or 5 different places as prices can be VERY different. I found prices like a Small local garage - $30, Dealership - $120.
My back hatch on my 2010 Cadillac SRX will not open manually or with a fob. How do I get it open?
So there are two drain hoses that run from the rear roof that is supposed to drain oout to ground. But the are notorious for getting plugged up. Thus the water will drain in to the rear of your vehicle. On the left side rear of your spare wheel well the ecm module that controls your locking and unlocking is located right where the clogged drains drain out to. Chances are there is water damage to that module. you can unplug the three plugs and open the ecm to take a look inside at the board. So to open the door... At the bottom of the hatch on the inside there is a clear plastic light. Pop that out and pull it to the side. Take a flash light, along with a flat head screw driver, and you will see a metal type lever. Push the screw driver against the lever until you hear a click, which means it is unlatched. And you can now lift your gate. That is a pain I know. You can buy a replacement ecm module, if that is the problem on E-Bay from $80 on up to ridiculous prices.

Remote
FIRST, look for a small screw-head or other fastener - if there is one, that's PROBABLY how it opens. If there ISN'T one, most car remotes have a seam around the edge that's too slim to for a coin, but the thin edge of a key (or a pen-knife) will do nicely to 'snap' it open. Then you can see the battery, pry it out, get a new battery (WalMart or Target unless it's weird) and put it in. When you close it up again, squeeze until you hear a 'snap'. Sometimes you have to use the 'find' button first before the 'lock/unlock' button will work.
Need to replace headlights
Open the hood of your SRX and disconnect the connector from rear of headlight by squeeaing the tabs. Pull off rubber dust cover. Rotate the collar on the headlight counterclockwise and pull it out of the headlight assembly. Insert new light and turn clockwise to lock it in place, DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB WITH YOUR FINGERS, THE OIL DEPOSITED FROM DOING THIS WILL CAUSE THE BULB TO OVERHEAT, LOWERING THE LIFE OF THE BULB CONSIDERABLY! use paper or something that is oil and dirt free. Replace dust cover and reconnect the power connector.
