Deville 92 old. lots to find bad that old. !
here it is, ID #2 below
you were told wrong, the reg is inside the ALT, actual.
the internet lied again.; 1/2 the time, asking 8year kid same.
the top parts sellers online, shows, no REG outside, so strike 2 on reg outside.
learn to keep that old (how old is it?) battery charged fully until car runs perfectly. or it can take 1/2 to jump start it or worse. dead batteries do not start engines and overload the poor donor cars electrics, doing so.(jumped)
once battery is new, or charged or load tested in a real shop
start the engine, see if GEN/CHARGE lamp goes out.? on dash.
if not alt is bad. wow no fuse then, scary then. lots of car fires.
or use voltmeter idling, at bat terms. 13,to 15vdc good below ALt is dead
140amp alt here.

Were there any other codes? The first thing to check is the condition of the battery. A low, flat or old battery can sometimes create this code as the electronics don't have enough power to work correctly. Old batteries, often five or more years old, can be weak and not hold charge correctly.
Cadillac is the make.
V8 is the engine configuration.
1.9 litre is the cubic capacity.
Nnone of that is 'year make model' as needed. With torque specs, the engine has an alpha numerical number and that is useful as well. Like this; Torque Specifications for. GM 4.9L-301ci-V8
Or we can guess, hope for the best and see what happens :>D

..
is key on , failed
fails engine running too.
this car has retained power relay system, so answer above 2 questions
1 fuse runs both cig jacks in IP fuse box. F1DA 15AMP AND LISTS IT AS A CIRCUIT BREAKER NOT ANY FAST ACTING FUSE.
IF THIS FUSE BLOWS ALL 3 GO DEAD.
it's in the fuse box, the one blown is it.
zero books answer
the glove box guide (lost?)_ answer this.
some cars have 3, one called cigar and one called powerport
THIS CAR HAS 3. !!!
AND 2 FUSES.
I will not read you service manual to you.
POWER JACK , CELL CHARGER. F26DA SAME BOX ABOVE.
THIS FUSE ONLY KILLS THE CHARGER PORT.*CELL)
AND ACCESSORY1 AND 2
POWER PORT CONSOLE AND DASH
THERE THEY ALL ARE.
FUSE BOX PAGE STATES
F1DA F1DA Circuit Breaker
AS YOU CAN SEE THE KEY MUST BE ON FOR RETAINED POWER RELAY TO CLOSE. BEST IS START ENGINE
THE RETAIN POWER FEATURE GOES OFFLINE SAY IN 10 MINS
SO AVOID THAT COMPLEXITY START THE ENGINE
AND TEST THE 3 GIGS.(POWER PORTS)
What year is your caddy ? The blend door actuator probably needs to be replaced . But first i would hook up a factory or someother type professional scan tool an check for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes in the cilmate control module . The blend door is controlled by a electronically controlled motor by the CCM .
question 2, are you going to ask for ever word in the chapter cooling? stated in the manual?
still posted lack the 5 engine sizes
huge engine have huge transmission and need special cooling, even 2 coolers and types.
ok?
frankly I just look, at the side of the tranny
and see 2 small METAL pipes, not rubber hoses.
they go to the tranny cooler, 1 or 2.
if not modified by others to say pull a trailer. full of bricks.
the 1st 2 show this
Disconnect the lower transaxle oil cooler line from the radiator
got 5L50 trannY, for sure as cooling ATF lines.
Aisin ay6?
not the stick shift. Tremec 6-Speed
pick one and I will read to you.
power steering has and oil to air cooler.
the 5L50 box
here the rad connections takes a special tool to unsnap them and not wreck them.
T= TO TRANNY
NO TRANNY TOLD.
NO ENGINE TOLD.
THE VIN CODE HAS A ENGINE CODE , LOOK IT UP ONLINE 'TYPE VIN DECODER AND SEE THE ANSWER.
"Thunking" is often a suspension issue. Possibly worn bushes, linkages or ball joints. Is it a single thunk as you first pull away or several thunks as you start to roll forwards?
The squealing brakes could be a separate issue. Ask a good mechanic to look at it and they can tell you what the problems are in more detail.
you dont need to and an 01 caddy is not a mandatory dealership for key most locksmiths dont have the equipment to cut and program automotive keys ---you have a transponder chip key some hardware and big box stores can cut new keys from an old one ---if no keys then needs to be cut by a dealer or an automotive authorized locksmith because need to cut by vin and key not $304 + also dont need to tow vehicle -----------
the word sensor , missing?
all cars in USA 1996 up for sure have CKP sensor
and 99%^ of them changed out is not cure.
not scanning the PCM first is why you miss out on causes
the crank sensor is in 3 places all
front ,middle or rear of the crank shaft.
the 3.6 L the tone wheel is on the REAR
service manual shows at #8
OP you did that all wrong.
the parts are NOT PNP
not plug and play at all and even by LAW.
those parts must be reprogrammed and remarried or IMMO will be dead.
WON'T SHIFT OUT OF 1ST IN DRIVE YOU MEANT.
IT DOES SHIFT TO PARK, NEUTRAL AND REVERES OK. RIGHT/
3.6L engine? not the bigger turbo.?6.2L
RWD OR AWD CAR?
it needs service, "obvious"?
scan the PCM yet? why skip this??? what if it shows TRANNY ERRORS max.
and check all fuses. FIRST ,SCAN SECOND.
check levels yet, on box. not guessing, do it like the book states.
check levels and tip of stick smells burnt, or looks like tar.?
or looks like metal dust in the AFT fluid there/?
shift linkage works ( per the service manual)
miles on car are? 250k miles?
check tranny pump pressure per the service manual in all gears PRNDL.
??????? at the tranny pump test ports?
6L45E TO 6L80E GM TRANSMISSION HERE
YOUR CARS VIN AND RPO LIST SHOWS WHAT BOX IS THERE, FOR SURE.
IF A SPEED SENSOR FAILS HOW CAN IT UP SHIFT, IT CAN NOT.
DO THE ON CAR TESTS IN THE SERVICE MANUAL
OR GET CAR SERVICED
54,engine bay fuse blows
only a service manual shows what all fuses connect to , in total.
only
so I read that now to you.
hummm all fuses in the SM have names not numbers.
the lid to fuse box usually has name. of the fuse.
ok only the users guide shows fuse # and 54 is clearly named
there as, POWER MODING.
AND IN FACT IS ONLY A TINY 2AMP FUSE.
THIS FUSE GOES 2 PLACES
1: IGNITION SWITCH PIN2
2: TDM THEFT DETERRENT MODULE. PIN 1.
YES GOES TO BCM PIN X1-14 , KEY ON, ONLY.
YOU WILL HAVE TO PULL MODULES, TO SEE IF MODING FUSE
HOLDS AND NOT BLOW.
I'D PULL TDM FIRST
Here's a wiring guide for the fuel pump on a 2000 Cadillac Deville:
1. Remove the fuel tank and access the fuel pump module.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the top of the fuel pump module.
3. Locate the wiring harness that runs from the fuel pump module to the car's electrical system.
4. Cut the wires on the old fuel pump module connector, leaving enough wire to splice the new connector onto.
5. Connect the black wire from the new fuel pump module connector to the black wire in the car's wiring harness.
6. Connect the purple wire from the new fuel pump module connector to the purple wire in the car's wiring harness.
7. Connect the gray wire from the new fuel pump module connector to the gray wire in the car's wiring harness.
8. Connect the black/white wire from the new fuel pump module connector to the black/white wire in the car's wiring harness.
9. Connect the new fuel pump module electrical connector to the car's wiring harness connector.
10. Reinstall the fuel tank.
Note that it is important to follow the wiring guide carefully to ensure proper installation and avoid damaging the fuel pump or electrical system. If you are unsure about any step of the process, it is recommended to seek assistance from a professional mechanic or refer to the vehicle's service manual.
There are two easy tests for the catalytic converters. One, use a infrared pyrometer and measure the temperature of both catalytic converters and compair the readings. There should not be much difference between the two if both are flowing correctly. Another easy test is to drill a 1/4" hole before each cat and check for excessive back pressure.
The 2007 Cadillac DTS does not have an inertia fuel reset switch. Instead, it has a fuel pump relay located in the rear fuse block under the back seat. If you are experiencing a fuel system issue, you may want to check the fuel pump relay and fuse first. If these components are functioning properly, you may need to have the fuel system diagnosed by a qualified mechanic.
