The driver's door should open with the key. Then you'll have to access the trunk through the backseat. There is an emergency trunk release located inside the trunk. To gain access, there is a pass-through in the rear seat. Put the rear armrest down, open the pass-through, and move the release up with your fingers. The release is glow-in-the-dark. So you should have no trouble finding it using a flashlight.

Try the switch in the door, as well as the one in the center console to eliminate the possibility of a bad switch. If the switch in the door, and the one in the center console both do not work -- then you probably have a bad window motor.

Check fuel pressure with a gauge to assure your pump is working correctly. If no check engine codes are being thrown, this may be your problem .

I am say this on the assumption that you have an automatic transmissionI. If so the oil in the coolant system will be automatic transmission oil from a cracked oil cooler in the radiator . A simple radiator replacement will fix the leak and a radiator /block flush will take care of the residue . Next thing if the car is running well then there will be nothing wrong with the head gasket or a cracked head as if these were evident the engine would be running like garbage. Next point if the head studs were un- removable because of stripping of the threads in the block then there is a product call HELICOILS that are screwed into the stripped holes and renew the threads back to new condition. So you want suggestions I suggest that these so called mechanics saw you coming and expect to make big bucks out of you. Find another accredited BMW service dealer or a qualified engine re-conditioning engineering shop. I suspect that you are being set up to be ripped off as a motor from the wreckers would cost less that what has been proposed for you.

You pay someone with a very expensive scan tool to flash the key to the BCM

sounds like a faulty sensor it would pay to it checked might save u some major bucks in the long run

Did the vehicle have this problem prior to replacing plugs?If not check that you have the leads on the correct plugs.If you could supply the model I may be able to give you better details and diagnosis.Some of the later models had coils on each plug so they are all a little different to diagnose.

not sure here as i cannot remember what is what after 30+years but quickest way is suction the pipe on the unit with mouth and hold tongue on teh eng to see if the unit is holding a vacumn ,from the sound of it ,it sounds like it working as the vacumn will advance the engine timing causing it to run faster ,now set timing with everything connected and set to around 6? on idle then rev angine and it should advance to around the 20? mark maybe a bit less as the engine is retarded to factory set up at 6? as its running on low grade fuel compared to the inherrent design but you have no alternative here as 98 octane fuel is no longer available as originally they were set to 12? if i remember rightly ,O TO YOUNG AGAIN WITH A MEMORY .try it check it out then any queiries do not hesitate to answer the post and i will help anyway i can
