Where is the oil filter located at on a 2004 gmc 4x4 Sonoma pick up

If you look under the front of the truck, you should see a metallic engine protector cover and on the front side you will see a small hinged door with one screw holding it shut. You turn that screw out with a screwdriver probably a half a turn and it will pop out and the door will open giving you great access to the filter. Pretty slick design on their part.

I have a 92 sonoma 4.6 i want to lnow if cutting the fuel pressure lines from tank to filter and replacing the rubber lines is a workable thing or do i have to go have new pressure lines made?

the use of steel lines for fuel is for a couple of reasons 1-- proximity to a heat source ( exhaust pipe, muffler ) 2-- damage from sticks , stones or other road based objects 3--- fuel pressure blowing hoses off connections if you cut steel lines to fit rubber hoses . the hose has to have a pressure rating of 150 + psi , the steel lines ends will have to be flared so that the threaded hose clamp has a stop against which to act to stop the hose sliding off under pressure the hose has to be properly mounted so as not to be caught by road debris any way having new lines made is an expensive exercise when there are plenty of good lines available from the wreckers /junk yards that will just bolt straight in

Alarm in my 2002 gmc Sonoma goes off when I open the door with the key. Lost remote. Can I disable the alarm without messing other things up?

Door Key Switch The BCM monitors the door key switches in order to disarm the CTD system. When the lock cylinder turns in order to unlock the door, the switch grounds the disarm input to the BCM. The key lock input to the BCM is probably missing , BCM doesn't see it . So it think's your breaking into the vehicle. Did you try the passenger door to see if it will disable the alarm . The BCM - body control module ! Electronic -computer ! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Does Not Disarm with Key Lock The factory service repair manual has a 23 step diagnostic procedure . An you would need a factory scan tool to find the correct fix. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF. With a scan tool, observe the door key switch parameter in the Body Control Module (BCM) security data list. Does the scan tool display INACTIVE? Locking the Vehicle Without Arming the System Use one of the following procedures in order to lock the vehicle without arming the system: • Procedure A -- Lock the vehicle using the manual door lock knobs. Close all the doors. • Procedure B -- Close all the doors. Use the key or the power door lock switch in order to lock the door. The doors must be closed prior to locking the doors for this procedure. Disarming the System In the arm initiated mode, the following conditions are true: • The security telltale is ON. • The doors are open. In order to disarm a system in the arm initiated mode, perform one of the following procedures: • Press the power door lock switch to the UNLOCK position. • Press the door unlock button on the key fob. In order to disarm a system in the arm delay or the armed mode, perform one of the following procedures: • Use the key in order to unlock one of the doors. • Press the door unlock button on the key fob. Deactivating the Alarm In the alarm mode, the following conditions are true: • The horns sound intermittently. • The headlights and the park lamps are flashing. In order to deactivate a system in the alarm mode, perform one of the following procedures: • Use the key in order to unlock one of the doors. • Press the door unlock button on the key fob. • If the vehicle control module (VCM)/powertrain control module (PCM) receives a valid Passlock™ ignition key rotation.

Hello ..There is a tube the your air filter connects to, and there is a ring(MAF) that couples into the air inlet tube right around where it passes the front of your engine. There will be a small electrical connection that will identify the location if you follow the tube coming from your air filter housing.

I am having trouble with my 2002 gmc sonoma turning over and starting, I have power but it won't turn over

Your starter bendex relay is faulty. New starter is prob best option. The solenoid gets better magnetism when jumped. I believe you can remove it and test at the auto parts store. The starter must be loaded to be tested. The load makes a real difference. All my best!

I have a 2002GMC Sonoma 4wd with a 4.3l edi and cmfi. I have a random missfire code of p0300 and i have changed spark plus wires cap and rotor and right bank upstream o2 sensor still skips

Fuel injector's not firing ? edi and cmfi ????? What do you thing this means . Center port fuel injection ! The powertrain control module (PCM) enables the appropriate fuel injector on the intake stroke for each cylinder. A voltage is supplied directly to the fuel injectors. The PCM controls each fuel injector by grounding the control circuit via a solid state device called a driver. A fuel injector coil winding resistance that is too high or too low will affect engine driveability. A fuel injector control circuit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may not set, but a misfire may be apparent. The fuel injector coil windings are affected by temperature. The resistance of the fuel injector coil windings will increase as the temperature of the fuel injector increases. Is there spark to the plug wires for those cylinders ?
