2002 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Stuck contacts inside the ASD relay maybe or bad ignition switch . Pull the plastic cover from around the upper steering column an disconnect the wiring connector from the ignition switch an see if it stops running then . Find ASD relay in the under hood fuse box an replace it .

The combination flasher unit is different than the flashers used in older vehicles. The one used has 14 blade-type connectors and is plugged into a matching connector from the instrument panel. On a Dakota, it is accessed by reaching up just to the left of the steering column, and is above the data link connector. I suspect it is probably in a similar location in a Ram.

Do you live in an extremely cold region? If so, those folks usually have a problem with heater in winter time. With a fully warmed up engine, how hot does it get in degrees F? Are the heater hoses hot?

No mention of what motor, but has it been tuned up recently? Any DTCs? Problem can be almost anything - spark plug(s) not firing, injector not firing or leaking, bad compression on one or more cylinders, vacuum leak, etc. If you have no experience invest in having a qualified, reputable mechanic check it out for you. Or you can spend a lot of dollars purchasing plugs, cables, injectors, sensors, etc. and still not be sure that the problem will be resolved.

Check connections under seats

You likely have a loss of vacuum to the mode control switch in the control head.

Could be a bad blower motor resistor,mounted by the blower.

These vehicles has a history of the agitater going bad,causing the vent to be shut closed.

Is the engine making allot of noise when it wont shut down, like a loud knocking noise?

All control solenoids are located inside the transmission bolted to the valve body.

Probably the resistor pack for the blower motor. It should be behind the glove box. Two screws hold it in place to the ac ducting. As long as you don't have digital temperature controls they only run about $25 at any parts store.

Yes it will fit but why, it is a very poor engine choice as they are fraught with mechanical problems. the 5.2L is a better choice.

Is there a code P0 something a DTC - diagnostic trouble code . Need to know more then metering oil pump stepper motor circuit malfunction

Get a flat blade screwdriver and turn the ignition swith to lock and get a paperclip straighten out one end and put a small bent on the end ( small L shape ) put the bend end in and try to hook the key and pull it out. Good luck

missing in EFI engines can be attributed to low fuel pressures when the requirement is for more fuel, then there is a probability that the pump cannot keep pressure up, filters are blocked, EVAP system is not venting properly most people jump on the ignition system ( plugs , coils ,HT leads ) but forget about the fact that it needs plenty of fuel to operate properly

head gasket ,burning water .could be a inlet manifold gasket as well

there are so many things that you may not have done that is the problem are all the harness connections clean and tight and correct? is the cam and crank sensors connected ? is the immobilizer connected ? is the ignition control module harness connected ? are the coil wires connected correctly? do you have fuel pressure in the fuel manifold? are the injector harnesses connected ? have you used a scan tool to reset the ECM?

check for good spark on this cylinder, then check fuel injector for operation. check plug wire resistance with a meter it should be 7,000 ohms or less for every foot. the injector maybe plugged and not allowing the proper amount of fuel to enter the cylinder. check compression. pull all plugs out and check every cylinder with a gage. they should be within 10% between the highest and lowest compression.
