I have a 97 sts and that bulb runs through the accessory fuse located under the dash on the drivers side.

A hunt and count question. core/freezed plug. its wired up wrong, must be aftermarket radio hack job; the cad as fuse marked radio this fuse feed works.so use that. just like the factory radio did.

You will need to refer to the Cadillac service manual for the exact sequence and specs. Generally, the torque specifications for the bolts range from 8-11 ft-lbs and should be tightened in the following order: (1) center bolts, (2) outer bolts, (3) inner bolts, (4) lower bolts.

My guess is Body Control Module comm failure, which would explain inoperative windows and door locks. Lighting is likely non operational also?

Check any/all fuses labeled BCM. You could also try disconnecting battery for few minutes and see if problem clears.

I think on this model it is a pain in the tailbone to remove it. At the pedal end the connector is held in with 2 tiny pegs that you will need to carefully press out of the way with two small, flat bladed screwdrivers.This is one of those jobs that will either release first time or take all day and the skin off your knuckles. It will also involve a lot of cursing and swearing at the vehicle.

Which engine is fitted to your Cadillac? As a general rule Cylinder One is usually positioned nearest the belts and pulleys on the end of the engine, the furthest away from the transmission. Stand in front of the engine with the belts and pulleys nearest to you. The cylinders to the LEFT are the Odd numbers, (1,3,5,7), and the cylinders to the RIGHT are the Even numbers, (2,4,6,8). Number One is LEFT side nearest to you.

Fuel can go bad after sitting for a long time...fuel pumps sometime will also get rusted with the bad fuel...try using starter fluid and see what it does.

it appears that 4 are sold as package and suggests that placement does not matter.

Most likely the gaskets need to be replaced... maybe the valve cover, oil pan, etc...if oil gets on the exhaust it can cause the oil to smell
