check engine light comes on when the computer detects a problem with the engine drivability and sets a code for what may be causing the problem that set the light on. the traction control off light comes on when the abs system detects a problem of a wheel or sensor that has lost communication with the system either through the electronics or through a wheel spin. this system works and is monitored by the abs system module(computer).

Hi Donna, Try opening your hood, and tightening your battery cables. You may need to give them a good twist. If this doesn't work, try disconnect the battery completely, taking some sand paper, sanding the battery terminals a bit, reconnecting the battery and USE A WRENCH to get them good and tight- not just by hand. Your car should start up fine without the alarm going off now.

Loose battery terminals. You should remove them, take some sand paper and sand the terminals a bit, removing any corrosion or "dark gray metal", and then using a WRENCH, tighten them back very securely. The "click" sound is the sudden jolt of electricity (the amps are highest when the battery first tries to turn the massive engine over, then the battery output lowers to maintain the running engine) We don't see this big jump in electricity at each start, but the surge of electricity is likely "pushing" loose terminals off the battery a bit, enough to prevent starting the engine, but not enough to disable the alarm.

Wipe the spark plug wire dry it could be arcing from the wettness Make sure the are replaced in the same order. I suggest one at a ttime

Toyota attaches their emblems in two ways:
1. By 2 sided tape
2. By prongs
If it is tape carefully remove the emblem with an exacto knife. You can purchase thin 2 way tape from your local hardware store. It is a little thicket than scotch tape. Carefully scrape off the tape from the back of the emblem, apply the new tape and press firmly.
Caution: do not try to take tape off car... you will scratch the paint.
If it is the prongs, gently pry off the emblem with a screw driver. It will snap back on.

it may be a pluged washer line ,try blowing it out or take a very small strand of wire and push it down the hole where it should come out while some one pushes on squirter

The steel piece on the door it self sounds out of adjustment. Check your cable first and if it is going in and out properly then maybe the tang on the door itself it bent a little out of adjustment

All this means is this vehicle doesn't have this control. If it is giving a code, but doesn't turn on the light, Ignore it. Manufacturers use the same PC board for a lot of different cars. If they don't need a chip in that vehicle, they don't put it in. I buy IC chips, usually less than a cent a piece. But I have to buy at least 100 of them. Some chips are $7+ a piece. These are just the ones I can replace.

if you lift out the fuse board holder then you can get at the bolts that hold the fuse in they are 8mm or 10mm size just remove and fuse will pull out from top do reverse to install new fuse

if you can get a scanner then reset the CPU program first as the program is probably corrupted from battery removal/ dead flat.
