You most likely have water in the spark plug hole that is shorting out the coil pack. Pull the Coil Pack and dry it out and spray with WD40

In the door hinge of the volvo . There is a black block connector. U flick that up with a small screwdriver to disconnect the mirror electrics. It is a swine to fix parts of the mirror as you can break the lugs on the mirror covers. You will need to undo the covers inside and the door panel if you are replacing the mirror as a whole unit . This will allow you to trace the wires back through to reconnect it at the door hinge.
