Woooo sound that varies with speed after new pads installed and a slightly hot rim?

The problem is likely to be the hardware wasn't as fine as you were led to believe. The brake is clearly not fully releasing and producing the all-important couple of thousandths of an inch clearance between the rotor and friction material. Possible reasons are a build up of scale in the pad carrier and if stainless steel shim bearing surfaces are used it is often between the shims and the carrier. Sometimes the caliper dust cover has been allowing water and dirt access to the piston and pressing the piston back into the caliper without first cleaning often results in a sticky caliper shortly after the pads have been replaced. The parking brake could be badly or improperly adjusted, or it could be a perished brake hose. A brake that has been overheating for a while is likely to shorten the life of the wheel bearing...

2009 legacy subaru reset switch

where do I find the reset button for a 2009 Subaru Legacy? The gas gauge and the display for how many miles a gallon I am averaging is blinking constantly and occasionally it shows numbers ranging from 2mpg to 65 mpg.. I am thinking that if I am able to reset the car system then it might fix it. Will this help? I need some advice..

My Gen 5 Subaru Liberty slides forwards in reverse

Your automatic transmission has a torque converter which is turned by the engine. This is a liquid coupling and depends on rpm to devolope pressure to overcome the weight of your car while it is on a slope. give it a little bit of gas and the car stops sliding forward , and if you give it even more it starts backing up. This all due to the hydraulic pressure in your transmission being developed as the engine turns faster. Marvin

PARKING LIGHTS WILL NOT SHUT OFF

Look on top of the steering column behind the steering wheel. There may be a switch there with a "P" on it. This is how it is on our '02 Outback. If it's not there, then it's probably somewhere else on the dash. Happens a lot when you're cleaning the interior.

1989 Subaru Legacy. It does not engage gears when computer box is connected and if I disconnect it, it moves with a single gear and I guess it's the 3rd gear?

Some sort of failsafe so that if the ECM / TCM fails, you at least have one gear. You need an auto electrician to diagnose. A professional grade scan tool computer can diagnose in 30 minutes. They are bi-directional so they can instruct shift solenoids to operate and verify that they did. https://www.google.com/search?q=auto+electrician+near+me ..

On a 2001 subaru legacy where is the power windows fuse and relay located

If you're finding it difficult to service/repair your car, get one of those online manuals. You'll not have to wait for others to answer, or rely on mechanics and all. Plus i know a website that has very good manuals online, without expiry i.e. for lifetime. www.reliable-store.com
