2008 Subaru Impreza - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My marker lights on my 2008 Subaru impreza do not work .
The first step is to verify that the tail light bulbs are not burned out. I Next step is check
a) if you get+12v on the bulb, and
b) check for poor grounds to rear light cluster.
There is a fuse for parking lights. If all this check out then trace the wiring harness under the carpet from the driver seat to the rear for rust/water damage.

At oil temp check engine & cruise light
Maybe.
You would need to get the engine computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed. As long as the check engine light is on the cruise light may stay too.

Power steering
The belt and the tension on the belt may be the problem. The belt will be available from the dealer spares department or any other auto spares shops . Some pumps start to become noisy if the turn is held on full lock as it makes the relief valve in the pump work . To check this turn on hard lock and if the noise appears back of the turn a little and the noise should abate

Windshield wiper linkage
This is a bit of an awkward one on that car, but you have to remove the wiper arms, then remove the retaining nuts on the spindles, the wiper motor and get to the inner wiper control arms. There's a chance that one of the nylon cups which connect the control/drive arms has popped off and simply needs to be reconnected.

Need to know what "sport" means when starting
The "Sport" light has to do with what position you have your suspension control in. If you need an Owner's Manual you can download a free one after opening an account at
MySubaru. This is the official web site for Subaru owners.

I have the EXACT problem joshvs described on jan
The "VDC Disabled" means that your Antilock brakes and traction control system has been disabled due to a malfunction, The Cruise Control light means that the Cruise control has been disabled due to a malfunction and the Check Engine light means that there is a malfunction in the engine management system. If all three lights came on at the same time, you most likely have a bad Vehicle or Wheel Speed sensor - this will affect all three. The only way to find out for sure if this is the cause, or to find out which speed sensor is at fault is to scan all your computer modules and retrieve the fault codes

I have a 2008 Impreza Outback Sport and the
Okay, heres the problem the battery is low and the alarm is going crazy without enough voltage but something to try is to connect the jumper cables and have all doors shut. leave the cables on for a few minutes, if the alarm starts to go off as soon as you connect cables then dont wait, take the key and go to drivers door and lock and unlook the door lock with the key this will shut down alarm system and then try to start the car, it should start up and let run for a while, also the computer may have lost its idle memory so this means you will need to hold the gas pedal a little to keep it running, after a minute you can slowly release it and let it idle, you will know if this needs to be done when you start the car and it dies out, you will then strat it and hold gas, just a little bit enough to keep the engine running, hope this helps, have a good day.

Rattle noice engine around the
Sounds like you may have a exhaust loose or either the cat converter is stopping up. Some of these have baffles inside which will break loose and cause a rattling noise. When the engine is cold, start the vehicle and crawl under and hold the converter with your hand and even the exhaust to see if any pressure will stop the or alter the noise. Careful it don't take long for the exhaust to heat up. If these baffles are broke inside, it can cause the converter to become stopped up and rattle, this will also give an engine false info when it comes to the fuel and air ratio mixture. Not going to far into it, so i don't confuse you. Good Luck

Why does the car rev high when A/C is on?
Because it takes more power to operate the air conditioner when it cycles. The throttle position sensor kicks up the idle a few hudred r.p.m.s so it doesnt bog your motor down.

New 2008 Subaru Impreza (5,200 miles!) AT: stuck
yes it should be under warranty, call your local Subaru service department to verify warranty coverage. if its still under warranty ask the dealership if towing the car would be covered also. it needs to be towed. make sure you tell the tow truck company that its stuck in park and wont move so they can send out the correct tow truck.
