Hi , A PO420 code on all cars and trucks is a bank 1 cat failure and this code is determined by the ECM (Engine Control Module) by 2 sensors the Up stream O/2 sensor (otherwise known by some car manufactures as a Air/fuel sensor) and the down stream O/2 sensor. If you remove the Cat you will still receive a code due to the down stream O/2 is looking for certain gases which is produce only by the Cat as exhaust gases is passing through it. So yes there is no way around it if your getting a PO420 it is best to first take your car into a reputable shop to find out what is causing the cat to fail in the first place ( most likely due to O/2 sensor failure ) and possibly other things that could of failed leading to O/2 sensor failures along with the Cat. look under the driver side dashboard as the flasher unit has to be heard by the driver and this is the usual place for flasher units or flasher cams or flasher relays. they go under different names but are the same thing.

U0121 Lost Communication With Electronic Brake Control Module As with most trouble codes, the U0121 code gives a general diagnosis. Review the info on this link. Look through the service bulletins. Not sure about the american model ?? no idea here but this i have had before on some GM astras here in europe and they have a electric motor under the dash for the power steering ,this is controlled by a built in computer incorperated into the motor mechanism ,they can be sent off to be reconditioned but whatever else you have to do when refitting them and thats to reset the new unti to central position which can only be done by the dealer with special software .BUT BEWARE HERE most dealers will not reset a unit thats been reconditioned ,they will only do it to a new supplied by them unit ,megabucks

Gm cars, I believe, do not have fuel reset buttons, or inertia switches. If your fuel pump is working, you should be able to hear it run for about 3 seconds when the ignition key is first turned on. Often, when a car runs out of gas, the fuel pump will have a hard time picking up fuel. You may have to spray some starting fluid into the intake or throttle body to get the engine started. I will double check to verify the absence of a fuel rest button.

Could be the valve springs too tight. Or it could be the computer is in the "limp homne" mode fom then the engine had the burned valves. Have the computer scanned and clear amy trouble codes that may be stored in the computer.

for a few bucks buy a replacement manual for it on ebay. think of how many times you will then be able to help yourself, twice a year on how to set the clocks, what type of light bulbs, how to replace them, etc.
