How to replace the fuel pump on a 2009 mitsubishi galant
The Mitsubishi Galant has an electric fuel pump so you should ensure that its fuses and relays are working before checking it. You may need to clean your fuel pump or replace it if your gas tank is not empty, but your vehicle has difficulty getting fuel. The Mitsubishi Galant's variety of styles and trim levels can affect the replacement fuel pump you choose.
-
- Determine which fuel pump your Mitsubishi Galant will need. This depends not only on the make and model, but also the engine size. Models made from 1969 to 1973 will have a 1.3 L or 1.5 L engine, 1973 to 1975 models have a 1.6 L engine and models made from 1976 to 1983 may have a 1.6 L, 1.85 L, 2.0 L or 2.6 L engine.
- Look at later versions of the Mitsubishi Galant. Models made from 1983 to 1991 have 1.6 L, 1.8 L and 2.0 L engines. Models built from 1992 to 1998 may have 1.8 L, 2.0 L, 2.4 L and 2.5 L engines. Models for 1999 to 2003 add an option for a 3.0 L engine. The latest generation debuted in 2004 and may have a 2.4 L, 3.8 L or 3.8 L engine.
- Prepare your vehicle for service to the fuel pump. Relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench. Take out the rear seat cushion. You will need to pull the seat stopper out and lift up the lower cushion. You can now remove the access cover.
- Unplug the fuel pump's electrical connection and disconnect the fuel send and return hose. Remove the retaining cap for the fuel pump with tool MB991480 and remove the fuel pump.
- Install the packing material on the fuel tank. Replace it if the packing material is damaged or deformed. Install the new fuel pump and align the marks on the floor pan and fuel pump.
- Complete the installation by reversing the removal procedure.
Air conditioner blows hot air, coolant is full but still blows hot air, sounds like compressor is coming but a/c light flashes.
The AC Light flashing can be caused by numerous things, some of which can be very difficult to answer without proper testing. The first thing you need to ask yourself is, "Is the A/C working?" i.e. Is the actual compressor switching on and off. If you hear a clicking sound when you first initialize the A/C that means the clutch is engaging. If you hear a second click, that would be the clutch disengaging for what most likely would be a system shutdown. My first step would be to check the hoses for any signs of obvious leaks, and then check the pressure. Make sure that you check the pressure after the clutch has engaged, and that you have the Max A/C setting enable with full fan.
Depending on the mileage of your car and the usage, it may be something as simple as a recharge. The 09 Galant uses R-134a. If you find that your pressure is dropping continuously, you should take your vehicle in for a thorough A/C analysis, as these are not situations that the average home mechanic can handle easily without the proper equipment. The A/C unit will need to be tested for major leaks, and will most likely need to be discharged and recharged professionally
I can't get my car out of park
Will the vehicle start and run? Where applicable, if you have a shift interlock system, look for a bypass button, usually close to shifter. With foot on the brake, press button and try to shift. That won't fix your problem, but, might get you out of a bind.
At the moment, the shift interlock system is all I can think of? Sometimes if your ignition switch isn't in the right position, you can't shift it.
Where is the safety neutral switch on a 2009 mitsubishi galant located?
If the vehicle is a front wheel drive, the switch can be seen on top of the transmission, under the shift rod. It will have a multi electrical connector attached to it. If the vehicle is a rear wheel drive, the switch will be on the driver's side on the transmission under the shift lever. It is easy to see and quite obvious. Good-Day!
Mitsubishi starter problems
when you say not clicking do you mean that it wont start? if so it could be your keyfob key. it has an immobilizer chip in it that will disable the car from actually starting when you try to crank it. it will sound like it is trying but it just wont start. id check the battery in the keyfob key for starters.
