My 2004 jaguar will not start gives me the following codes P1611, P1396, P1384, P0405

I can tell you upfront you must check your variable valve timing solenoids..codes p1396 and 1384 as for code po197/198 thats your engine oil temp sensor.po102 check your mass air flow meter connection right behind the air filter housing where the air duct elbow is located. The sensor could be bad.p0112 intake air temp sensor code.ok the p1224 is the throttle postion control sensor.make sure your battery is good...seems like these codes are related to low voltage also...but 1st make sure your fix that oil leak.

Jaguar xj 2004 (x350 design) -

I have been with same problem on a BMW 325i.
It is because you need to add oil. Less oil= extrem temperature!
try to add oil, better to change oil and filter.

1999 Jaguar XJR - Dead battery and can't get in locked trunk

It takes a deal of time and patience to charge via the cigarette lighter socket though there should soon have been enough power to open the boot. It should be possible to access the end of the main battery lead in the engine compartment in order to jump start the engine, provide power to open the boot or to charge the battery, if the battery is healthy enough to accept a charge. Some cars with a remote battery provide terminals for the purpose though I don't know whether the Jag does. If it doesn't the main battery cable terminates at the starter motor.

A/C DOES NOT ALWAYS COOL.

Possible intermittent power connection to A/C compressor clutch or maybe overcharged, if it does not work on very hot days, pressures may exceed cutout limit.

Stop by any good parts store (Autozone, Advance, etc...) and have them do a FREE OBII scan. (fault scan) they can pull the codes that triggered computers light and identified what needs to be replaced.

HARD METALLIC TAPPING ON JAGUAR XJ 2.7 DIESEL

hydraulic tappets by the sound of it ,three squirts of fairy liquid into engine oil and some diesel say about half a pint then run engine for a couple of days then when noise stops change the oil and filter ,if oil hasnt been changed for ages then when hot and ready to change add some more diesel say a litre then let engine idle for ten minutes and then drop oil .then change oil every 6000 miles with a oil filter every thrid oil change ,Use the cheapest oil you can buy say a 10/40 but even a monograde of 30 or 40 will do ,do not use expensive long life oil as it just causes the engine to clagg up inside bolcking the oil ways causing this sort of problem ,if in the uk then shell rotella is a reasonable priced oil and its a good oil

Need wiring schematics for a 1996 Jag.

If you go to faxonautoliterature you can get the dealer service manual for that specific Jag. It should have the complete wire harness diagram in it. A quick e-mail can confirm it. Or they also have a reprint wiring diagram from a Jag manual that you can also get for yours. I have used them before and had excellent service. Hope this helps.
