How can I install a
Hi
The crankshaft pulley powers the belts that work the alternator, the coolant pump, the power steering pump and the air conditioning system. It's attached to a thick rubber disc sandwiched between two metal drive rings, mounted on the end of the crankshaft. The rubber disc removes vibrations from the crankshaft that would be passed on to the crankshaft pulley. It is rarely possible to install a new crankshaft pulley with the engine in the vehicle since the work that must be done requires more room that most engine compartment afford.
Move the tensioner pulley aside to loosen the belts so they can be removed. Loosen the large nut holding the old pulley in place. This nut is often tightened beyond the strength of one man to loosen it. Use a large wrench and a six-foot steel pipe to add leverage or an impact wrench. Remove the old pulley. Once the nut is removed, the old pulley will usually slide off. Check the shaft key and key slot for damage or wear. Replace, if necessary. Mount the new pulley. Torque the large nut to the factory specifications.
Slide the belts back into place. Adjust the tensioner pulley to remove most of the slack.

How do i remove the oil filter on 2009 jaguar xf
To remove the oil filter on a diesel you remove the cover from the top of the engine and you should see a plastic cylinder in the centre of the engine with a 30mm hex nut moulded on to the top of it. Simply unsrew it and pull the filter out.
Petrol engine you remove the undertray of the underside and you should see a white metal filter by the sump. Unscrew

The alarm system is automatically set when the car is locked.
The alarm system is switched off automatically when you unlock the vehicle with the remote control.
Note: If you unlock the vehicle by inserting the key in the driver’s door, the ignition must be switched on within 15 seconds, otherwise the alarm will be triggered.
to deactivate the alarm:
1. Disarm the alarm system (either with the transmitter, or by cycling the ignition switch from "lock" to "on" 3 times within 5 seconds);
2. Sit in drivers seat with all doors shut;
3. Turn ignition switch to "on";
4. Hold down the UNLOCK side of the driver's power door switch, open the driver's door within the following 1 second, and wait 10 seconds without releasing the switch.
The horn should sound twice to tell you it is deactivated. Repeat the process to reactivate.

try these:
1. Ingition switch may be worn: turn ON engine and idle in a safe place. Jiggle the key / ignition switch, slooowwly, to see if a certain position will turn off car.
2. Check the battery negative cable where it connects to the engine ground. It may be loose, corroded or otherwise not making good ground contact.
3. What the heck, install a grounding strap ($8)from the engine to chassis ground. Your negative battery cable may not be the correct one (is the "pigtail" on the negative battery cable connected or has someone cut the pigtail off?)
