This could be a mechanical bind somewhere. However, you say that you put in a clutch kit. If you replaced the pressure plate, it is possible that the fingers are stiffer than your previous pressure plate. This would require more force to move the pedal.

Not irrelevant - a high energy ignition system needs everything to be in good condition. If one or more of the spark plug leads isn't pushed fully home onto the spark plug or into the coil or distributor cap or is in any way defective, there is sufficient voltage available to jump the "gap" or defect and in doing so will rapidly burn the metal edges or the interior of the lead, distributor cap, rotor, coil or whatever, making the situation worse until the "defect" has become so bad the spark would rather take a different path to ground and a misfire will result. It isn't easy to push the leads fully home especially as the plug boots are close fitting and the act of pushing them on creates an air pressure inside that sometimes pushes them off again. I usually give the plug insulators and the inside of the plug boots a spray with silicone grease and sometimes I would work the boot back up the lead so I could see the terminal was fully home or slide a small screwdriver between the lead and boot to release the air pressure.

The starter turns but not the engine - the fault most likely is the starter motor; it isn't unknown for the pivot pin to fall out of the pinion housing... I have a feeling you meant to say the engine is cranking but not starting. Is the engine petrol or diesel? What have you checked so far?

Depends on the age of the vehicle as there have been many marks of Kadett. A description of the system would be helpful, however after a thorough visual inspection a code read would provide a starting point for diagnosis. Earlier models are obd1 but some of the data can be read with a generic obd2 scanner.

Petrol or gasoline fumes or another type? A small coolant leak can create a strong odour, usually a spicy smell. A cooking battery smells rather acidic. Vauxhall/Opel fuel lines aren't the greatest and sometimes develop a small leak and this also applies to the fuel tank breather hoses - but these are possible problems only when regular maintenance isn't thoroughly carried out.

Check the repair manual for the torque figure - if a later model the bolts are angular tightened and the bolts should be used once only and then replaced. Earlier models don't use stretch bolts and they can be reused. The two engines are probably identical but if you want to interchange parts you need to make careful comparisons - I have noticed slight differences between vehicles from different factories.

First define the misfire - general under load, single cylinder under load, light load, constant single cylinder... There are many possible causes depending on the equipment/version of your engine - coil pack or HT leads, distributor cap, intake air leak, wiring, connectors, injector, compression... A code read might help though the fact they are obd1 means modern generic code readers won't fully read the system. Those engines have a history of losing a camshaft lobe... It would be really helpful if you would provide more details.

The fuel pump relay is an electronic component that is found on virtually all vehicles equipped with an internal combustion engine. It is often found in the fuse box located in the engine bay and functions as the primary electronic switch that controls power to the fuel pump.

No power to the fuel injectors can be caused by a few things. If the relays, fuses, and computer all check out then I would move on to looking at the engine management and fuel system. ... A no start condition can also be caused by a faulty fuel pump, or any of the associated components. The injector fuse and relay are usually located in the relay box or power distribution center in the engine compartment. Fuses are used to protect various electrical circuits while supplying power to components. They help the fuel pump, fuel injection and computer systems from suffering a short circuit

I suggest you check with a repair manual or the dealer to ensure your car actually has a flasher relay - the flasher relay had been deleted from many of the GM Opel/Vauxhall range and replaced with a single black box that performs all the timing functions; flashers, wiper delay, interior lights, etc. Many direction indicator faults can be caused by the hazard flasher switch, usually because of lack of use.

Ok, some obvious questions first. 1. Have you checked the bulbs - are they burned out? Inspect ALL the bulbs as (doubtful, however) if one burned out, it may be interfering with another. 2. Have you checked the fuses? Check the owners manual as there may be an additional fuse in the engine compartment for the lighting.

You need to go back to basics on it. You check the battery is fully charged and the 'holy trinity' when a car won't start. First is fuel, second is spark, third is air flow. You've looked at the fuel system. Disconnect the negative lead on the battery. Remove each spark plug, one at a time, and check their condition. Replace them All if you're not sure. If yours has a distributor and give the cap, rotor and points a good clean and check what condition they are in. Again replace them if your in doubt. Next check your air filter. A dirty one can starve the engine of air flow. As usual, replace it if it looks dirty. Hope this helps.
