Oldsmobile Aurora - Popular Questions, Answers, Tips & Manuals
99 olds aurora turn signal lights don't flash and battery drains. Please help
Non working turn signals will not drain the battery because they work when the key is on. You may have a bad battery. If your signal lights come on and do not flash, you have a bad flasher which should be located under the dash area. As for the battery, most parts houses will check the condition of the new battery for free. If you think you have a bad battery, make sure that it has a good charge then disconnect it from the system by disconnection one of the cables. If the battery goes dead overnight then it is self draining.
Where is the ground ******** the underneath located
Chassis ground? I have used redundant grounds on many automotive systems, so far no problems. I've seen them from firewall to engine block. I have heard of them being down around motor mounts. The point is, I don't believe it matters where you put it. I don't know where the factory ground point is located?
Just my opinion.
How to bypass security system in 2001 aurora
This is a very common problem on GM vehicles. The security system is known to fail. Basically when you insert your key, the system checks for certain OHMS resistance. If the system cannot get the correct signal from the key, it assumes the key is incorrect and goes into SECURITY lockout mode. (prevents hotwiring) This has been happening with GM;s for a very long time. There are ways to bypass this now. Read through this page for info, solutions as well.
