Oldsmobile 98 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

thinking back to my 92 olds 98, you have to take off the inside door panel, look in the door, on the bottom of the glass it will be attached to the regulater, which is the mechanism that raises and lowers the window, disconnect the glass from this piece and just lift it out the top.

undo the 4 bracket bolts

check fuses and relays check key - ign cylinder -ignition switch for excessive wear ir damage

sounds like a vapor lock. older cars needed a set of points . they kept firing times in sync with fuel delivery , valves opening/closing try that.

I'd guess Compressor control wire is shorting somewhere between its relay and compressor "clutch" and therefore not enough power for ecm or Ignition system. Or Ac 'on switch"

Fuel pressure gauge

replace the valves as the noise is a vacuum leak

take out the old one put in a new one! You think i'm being funny but that is all you can do.

Check coil pack

Sounds like a vacum problem on the cruise system. Probably the canister that has a diaframe is leaking. As for the a/c go to a parts store and get the plug or it can fry the wires.there will be pigtails on the new plug and this will help you as to where they go as the plug will only fit into the compressor one way.

DONT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM! THAT MAY COST U MORE. Let the tech do it. Something like a bad flasher is a simple issue. If u have a fair tech u wont be soaked in labor. Getting back to your question, the flasher is located in the fuse box. If the flasher was NG the lights would show on the dash but would not flash. u may have an electrical short in the turn signal switch circuit. u can try changing the flasher (its simple & inexpensive enough) but it may not solve your problem. Remove the flasher, put on the turn signal & w a test light, test the connector on the fuse box for voltage. Jump the connector to see if the light activates. If so replace the flasher. If u don't want to test just replace the flasher as a test. Good luck

Your crankshaft postion could be bad , this controls spark timing an input to PCM - for energizing the fuel pump relay . You either have a loss of vacuum to the vacuum mode control switch in the heater control panel or you have a defective vacuum mode control switch.
