Ned to set timing and camshaft on 2009 1.6 mini cooper r56
You will need to purchase cam locks that bolt to the top of the head to set, should have a crank lock pin also. Usually if you do this you will also need cam bolts as they are one time used. Angle torque gauge and a torque wrench. You can find the how to on youtube.
2001 mini cooper, fob key intermittent , toggle switch does not work, can only open and lock drivers door with manual key
This is, and has been a problem with the early 00's! My '04 as well, but only towards the end of the fourteen years i owned it. What is happening is either the switch has gone bad. Or the lock mechanism itself. Or both, as they do sometimes. I have heard it referred to as a cascading effect. What can you do, that is the question here right? Well my friend there is no candy coating this. So I am just going to come right out and say it. You are going to spend some money. How much depends on you. You can go through BMW (therefore committing (1) arm and (1) leg). Or you can address this through other means. There are literally 100's of aftermarket and discount BMW web sites out there. Find one you are comfortable with and go for it. But 1st I would recommend a firm diagnosis. This way you know what you are ordering and precisely what you should be paying for it.
As for me, well I sold my little fun mobile before I had to tackle this for myself.
Good luck,
Jason
Mini one 2004 overheating and blowing cold air
Same problem with my '04. There is a sensor that activates a fan on your radiator. It also talks to your A/C. When this thing goes out. AND THEY GO OUT! You can try what I did. Or be a bit smarter and suck it up and go to a certified mechanic.
O.K. you ready for my fix?
I installed a bypass switch. No really, I did!!! I was actually one of those flick switches like on a cord of a lamp. The kind that clamp to things, get me? So yea, I figured out that the fan still worked and just the sensor was out. And being flat broke at the time. I did what I could to remedy the problem. Found the switch (still in the cord!) and wired it into the system. When I was NOT tooling down the hwy. In other words stop & go or just stop if your in L.A. Open the hood, flick the switch and on goes the fan. All is cherry again.
Kinda mickey mouse but will work if you really have to.

I can't find the lower ac valve for my 2009 mini cooper
It's in there! Either keep looking or take it in man. I know it's a lot of motor in a very small compartment. Believe me I know! But at some point you just have to say uncle and take it in for the stuff you just can't do or don't have the tools for.

2006 mini Cooper compressor and fan not working and the windows seem to stick could it be electrical?
Definitely could be. BMW has had extensive problems with both items you discuss. For me on my '04 it was the windows. It must have been 4 replacements before they actually worked right. But I was kind of a pain in their donkey. If you get my drift. ANY little thing that didn't feel or even sound right. I made sure that it was noted on the paperwork. And addressed during my 4 year bumper to bumper warranty. There were other things too. But we aren't doing me, are we. We are on you right now. So, here we go. You can try a battery reset. That is when you disconnect the positive lead from your battery. Give it about 20-30 seconds then reconnect. See what that does for you. The programing should default to factory settings and all might be well again. If not then next you can take it to any decent parts store. They will have an OBDII reader. And they will be very happy to plug it in and pull any fault codes from the ECM (electronic control module). With this knowledge you can now make an informed decision as to what the next step should be.
Sorry for the extended response. I actually have more. But this is where you should start. I will check back in a week or so. Just in case you have need of any more suggestions. Hope you don't!
Good luck,
Jason
Do the wing mirrors on a mini cooper 2007 fold in when parked
No they dont. I sure would be nice if they did though. You would think that with ALL the electronic gizmos BMW puts into their cars. That folding wing mirrors would be at least in the top ten. But that is BMW for ya. Always going for the innovation and often leaving the truly cool things by the wayside.
OUT,
Jason
I use the convertible top
BMW while truly an innovator. Also designs some of the most complicated electrical systems imaginable!! What worked for me was essentially a master reset. Now I didn't have the convertible, but I imagine the principle still applies. Try disconnecting the positive battery lead for about 20-30 seconds. this should do a "reboot" of your car's OS. Hopefully reverting to factory settings for all functions, including the programing for the top.
Good luck,
Jason
Error code on 2008 mini cooper s of CCID 031 what
Hi. Error CCID 031 means increased emissions. You need to refer to yuor card dealer and have this ting replace. DTML - It is a little pump/sensor that measures fuel vapor emissions from fuel system. If your gas cap seal is faulty or you have any fuel system pressure leak this pump runs to maintain pressure in the system. Normally it is not supposed to run. When it runs it sets of the Check Engine light.
