Just pull the inner door panel off and look to see what's loose and rattling. That's the only way you'll find out what it is. Just telling us about the rattle says nothing about what it could be.

That sounds pretty outrageous for a pump that looks like an aquarium aerator (see below)... (less than $80) That would throw the ENTIRE transaction with your "dealer" in question... Are you using an aftermarket key? It may be your EWS, immobilizer. Try resetting the ECU.

If you have a dedicated tpms fuse pull it.

The hood release is by the drivers left foot rest. To find the release under the hood look at the front grill where the grill starts to bend down on the drivers side under the hood is the release handle.

More then likely the tab is stuck in or out, try to work it manually with some WD40 type lubricant.
