i have a 2005 lincoln ls v8, my code was on a sticker located under the center of the dash (driver side). i laid down on my back with a flash light and looked behind the radio, you will see several stickers with numbers on them. i wrote down all the number from each sticker then tried them , it worked i found the code. note: the one sticker that my code was on had several numbers in front of it that i had to eliminate ex: 1003(98501), 98501 was the code for my door. it took me 20 min but it was worth it . the dealer wanted $90

that does not sound to bad may be tight motor (low miles) or broke down oil, (When was the last time you did an oil change w/ quality oil?) weak oil pump ( keep an eye and ear out for unusual engine sounds , immediately pull it over and try to get it towed to fix it..(AAA motor club?) either way if you listen to your engine you will figure out to crank it up and let it idle while you get ready to go (say 15 minutes prior to leaving home.) that way there is not significant wear on a cold start and go (like my woman) and like most people .Also when was the last time you did a tune-up?

Make sure you know where the coolant is leaking from and do not let it run to low and overheat. If the check engine light is only flashing and not staying on steady this signifies a soft code or pending code. So this issue must've just started I assume. A PO300 code means it has a multiple cylinder misfire.

Be aware that overheating as well as misfiring are the biggest reasons for a catalytic converter to plug. Just another reason to remedy the situation as soon as possible.

You must check a few things to eliminate causes ok , so first answer this question , does your engine stay running when your parked idling and when you press on the gas to raise the rpm's it still runs yes/no? If yes you must check the spark plug gap on each plug , wait for the engine to cool down for 1 hour they take out each spark plug and check the air gap between the center firing pin and the bottom electrode using a gapping tool you can buy this at autozone ,and the gap is listed on the emissions sticker on the radiator support if your not say on doing this stuff get a guy to help you ok ///your engine will idle fine when the gap is out of specification maybe a little shaking in drive ,but when you are driving the extra heat generated from the engine being under a higher load will cause the gas to evaporate and burn up before the spark ignition takes place so the loss of power or stalling will be the result when you take out the first plug if it's out of gap they all are and if there's enough center firing pin left you can regap them but it's better to replace them all at the same time 1 by 1 they should be removed ok

The owners manual that comes with the car, would have the answer for you. You will need lo look in the index for Fuses, and will have diagram of the fuses, amperage, colors, and what it manages, such as lights, and so on. If its not found in the manual, it maybe an aftermarket install, and is ideal to take it to a Lincoln repair shop.

The fuel pump is inside the fuel tank , nothing is located in the front driver wheel area , unless ABS - anti-lock brakes pump motor. When turning the key to the start position does the starter engage an spin the engine around ? Hooking up a fuel pressure gauge an check to see if there is fuel pressure at the injector fuel rail should be done plus hooking up a scan tool an checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes also . Any light's lit on the instrument cluster , check engine light etc.... Your vehicle also has a electronic control module that controls the fuel pump . Your best bet mite be to have a qualified repair shop check it out , has electronic's you are not aware of.

Take two nickels and glue them together . Slip the nickels through the bottom of the door crack slightly.. it will keep it closed for sure. Works like a charm

it sounds like a bad catalytic convertor get a helper and jack it up get the helper to keep the engine running and feel the convertors with gloves on1 should be really hot and the other cooler the really hot one is the bad one make sure you get the motor up to normal operating temperature before checking

ck for open 20a fuse at trunk mounted secondary fuse box,if tests open poss.fuel pump/jet pump in tank

ck fuel press,poss.vacuum leak at intake manifold

perform compression test

p0305 is misfire at #5 cyl,poss.coil/plug/injector-lean codes p0171/p0174,ck for vacuum leak or low fuel press,or plugged #5 injector
