2001 Lexus IS300. If my ECU actually provided codes to obd2 scanner, can the ECU still be bad?
Yes, it is possible for the ECU to be bad even if it is still providing codes to the OBD2 scanner. The ECU is a complex electronic device and it is possible for one or more of its internal components to fail without affecting its ability to communicate with the OBD2 scanner.
In your case, the fact that the codes went away after replacing the #35 fuse and the IAC motor suggests that those were the underlying problems causing the "crank but no start" condition. However, the fact that the car still won't start after those repairs indicates that there is another problem, and it is possible that the ECU is at fault.
To be sure, you would need to take the car to a qualified mechanic and have them perform a more thorough diagnosis. The mechanic may be able to test the ECU to see if it is functioning properly. If the ECU is found to be bad, it will need to be replaced.
Here are some other possible causes of the "crank but no start" condition in your Lexus IS300:
Faulty fuel pump
Faulty spark plugs
Faulty ignition coil
Faulty camshaft or crankshaft sensor
Low compression in one or more cylinders
Clogged fuel filter
Restriction in the air intake system
If the mechanic is unable to find any other problems, then the ECU may indeed be the culprit. However, it is important to rule out all other possibilities before replacing the ECU, as it can be a costly repair.
Where is the location of the fuel pump relay for 2004 Lexus RX330?
does it start with 5%(a tad) right foot throttle pressed?
is the IP cluster, IMMO lamp happy? (immobilizer)?????
check all fused first? NOT RELAYS.
check spark first if engine itself tests good.
the classic way for 100 years a test spark plug used.
if spark is good then spray test fuel works.? FOR 3seconds
if that works, then fueling is bad. (no start)
the knock sensor does not kill spark. (it fine tunes spark timing only and only if the engine pings going fast.
then scan the pCM OBD2 port for DTC errors.
check fuel pressure, at the rail.
ok dead fuel pressure.
fuel pump relay is called on this car
AS
EFI MAIN relay
HORN RELAY SAME (SWAPS)
if the PCM detects spark bad it cuts fuel dead.
to prevent crash and burn as see on TV..
the crash sensor also trips the pump off line.

FUEL PUMP SHUT OFF SYSTEM
The fuel pump shut off system stops supplying fuel to the
engine to minimize the risk of fuel leakage when the engine
stalls or an airbag inflates upon collision. To restart the engine
after the fuel pump shut off system activates, turn the ignition
switch to "
ACC" or "LOCK" once and start it.

Hi, I need help with Error code P2121 On a 2006 Lexus IS250.
Some throttle pedals when they are replaced need to be calibrated to the vehicle so the electronics understands were the new pedal is for each position as you use the pedal. This is often done using an OBD2 diagnostic system.
If you have to pay for this service ask at 4 or 5 different places as prices can be VERY different.
Steering wheel is locked Lexus is250 2011 but the car will start just can't turn turn steering wheel
using only electronic key or the metal key.(feature)
got park assist option?
a no key slot ignition, fails we scant the PCM for cause.
the steering is first. so wheels against curb or hard rock>?
front tires are free of objects?
to unluck it , try both key car came with new
and grab the wheel and move it CCW/CW roughly to free the key.
shifter is in park I guess. try Neutral? step brake
release hand brake, and shift to N
then unlock wheel. this answer is flat ground answer only
the steps are here
Check that the parking brake is set.
Check that the shift lever is set in P.
Sit in the driver's seat and firmly depress the brake pedal.
The "ENGINE START STOP" switch indicator turns green.
Pressthe"ENGINESTART
STOP" switch
if steering lock fails the books states
The "ENGINE START STOP" switch indica-
tor will flash in green and a message will be
shown on the multi-information display. Press
the "ENGINE START STOP" switch again
while turning the steering wheel left and right!!

2002 Lexus sc430 location of door chime

here it is
2013 Lexus RX 350 crankshaft position sensors is located where
NO COUNTRY TOLD at all. (sold to day1 new) no VIN told no VIN #8 digit told so we can see what engine is there. and what country, some have 8 engines choices not one I can guess and is a pure engine question the endless hunt here. 2 gas engines here and 1 hybrid , engine is TOYOTA's USA got the 3.5L V6, are you here? USA??? the USA engine has 2 pin CKP sensor, 2 pins is huge clue. crank sensors are on the cranks sure but are on front, middle or rear of crank or even under flywheel, 4 places all engines, 1 is true the cranks shaft has the CKP huge tone while dead front of crank. the service manual covers this, only or you can google this. toyota 3.5 L 2GR-FE V6 cranks sensor location bingo.(note using the real name)
Lexus RX400H won't start. Prior suddenly stopping the car was having temperature issue. It has been scanned with 3 different machines, but it is only picking light and ac error code.
2006 Lexus RX400H hybrid .and long story.(you added and very very good)and if was mine, my story would be same, park it and wonder what to next.?this car is very complex, unlike ICE real cars were simple and still are to a good extent.I do wish you find a good shop to cure all that.a full service manual in hand may do the trick.IDK.good luck! and be SAFE.use the scan tool as the hybrid starts and fails to light off the engine, see DTC code for that.scan before ,during and after failuresand use the pending button too on t he scan tool as here may be marginal or intermittent failuresalso (Im no hybrid guru) but some hybrids do not run the engine (to save fuel) until the battery has some amount of discharge detected.some even have switches to set the mode you want, save fuel or save battery life, IDK this car.
1999 lexus gs300 wont start
What EXACTLY does it do when you turn the key? This will give clues as to where the problem could be.
A slow sluggish crank suggests a low battery charge or an old weak battery. In general any battery over 5 years old is considered 'Old' especially if the vehicle is used a lot.
Just spinning could be a Spark issue and spinning, catching and immediately stalling out could be a fuel supply problem.

DCC and Dome light are draining the battery in 1999 Lexus rx300. Can I drive my car with those two fuses taken out?
well the service manual covers both.
dcc means ( normal phantom drains, all computer that need and have memory this is memory power)
the car is shipped with no DCC fuse.
dome light well try it , in drive way then around the block.
be brave or buy the book.
the dome lamp that does no glow is not draining any batter ever sure bad door switches sure,
my cars all have, dome disable switch covered fully in the users guide, (lost that?)
lots of things can do the phantom drain even a bad alternator
the drain is on DCC or is on the fuses marked hot all the time , vast things on that too.
best is use an ammeter and not guess
key off
battery cable amps below 0.050amps or 50mA
if above that much that is called a phantom drain
then we pull all fuses, 1 by 1 to see if current falls to spec
sure DDC sure dome
and gee 25 more use on bat + hot all time bus.
when found the same book tells you all things on that fuse
even 10 or 20 things that must be pulled to prove they are not bad.
not guessing or be wrong 25 + times.
or more.
learn to use an ammeter or pay those that do.
toss coin.
How remove glove compartment on 2007 lexus ls460
To remove the glove compartment on a 2007 Lexus LS460, you will need to first open the compartment. Then, you will need to locate the mounting screws that hold the compartment in place. These screws are usually located on the sides or bottom of the compartment. Once you have found the screws, use a screwdriver to remove them. After the screws have been removed, the glove compartment should be able to be gently pulled away from the dashboard. If the compartment is stuck, you may need to carefully pry it away using a flat tool like a screwdriver or a trim panel tool. Be careful not to damage the dashboard or the glove compartment as you remove it. Once the glove compartment has been removed, you can access the area behind it for maintenance or repair.
