How do you turn off the battery indicator light on my dash?
Contrary to popular belief, the battery light can be on even if the battery and alternator appear to be working fine. It is located in such a place as to indicate effective charging. What that means is that even if the battery is good and the alternator is outputting voltage (and current), the lamp lights to indicate that the vehicle is consuming more power than the alternator is producing. This is important since once running, if the alternator cannot supply all the vehicle's power needs, the battery is drawn on for the remainder, and will suffer draining as such. Most manufacturers provide alternators that produce more than enough power to operate their vehicles, but many owners add additional high-power audio systems and other items that can overwhelm the factory unit.
You said the alternator was "tested"....was it load tested, or did they simply hook a voltmeter to it while the engine was running and saw 14.5 volts? This is important since a failing alternator may regulate its voltage properly, but may fall far short of the output current (power) needed to operate the vehicle.
It is possible that there could be a defect in the battery amp circuit, but it is such a simple circuit that I would be more suspect of a charging system issue than I would of a faulty battery light. And no, there is no reset for it - as soon as the power balance returns to the positive side (car needs less than is produced), it will go out all by itself.
2002 RX300 - Driver side window, at times I can
leave well alone as the confort system is playing up this is a compliated set of microprocessors and relays in a box built into teh motor and the only way to sort it is to replace the whole motor assembly ,
I have a Lexus RX300.
This is likely the switch assembly itself. The switch is an integrated and self contained unit. The motor and regulator assembly would fail or have more definative symptoms than what you are describing. Here are the instructions for removing the switch assembly. Let me know if you need anything else.
Fig. Using a suitable prytool (or a screwdriver with it-s tip taped to prevent damage), carefully disengage the hook, remove the power window regulator master switch
Whats the standard kilometres a full tank of my car covered
Tank holds around 70-75 Litres and has a range of around 480 Kms. Obviously that depends on engine condition and the weight of your right foot.
Don't take any notice of the readout telling you how far till empty, it will still keep going when reading 0 Km, just don't risk it too long.
Low oil pressure light is on on 2000 lexus rx300
try replacing the oil preasure switch, if that doesnt solve your problem then have your oil preasure tested, if it really doesnt have oil preasure it will cause internal engine damage so start with the switch and then go from there, hope this is helpful.
A brake warning light
check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder. if its low it will turn on the brake warning light. top up if low and make sure the light sensor float is moving freely. then check the e-brake switch and make sure it is in the fully off position when the e-brake is fully off. its usually one of the two that turns it on. have you check for a brake fluid leak. if its has ABS it could be a problem with the hydraulic unit however the ABS light is usually on at the same time.
