Land Rover LR3 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

the visor is held in place with 2 screws. the part is covered by a cap that covers 90% of the area, but I can't figure out how to get the cap off, either. prying every angle and spot does nothing except dent the headliner and scar the cap. how can something so miniscule cause such a problem?

You can take it to a garage that can run diagnostics on your vehicle, as you need to plug in a laptop that has the diagnostic program on it and switch off the indicator. This also goes for engin mangement lights, airbag warning lights etc. As long as the garage has the correct diagnostic program they caan reset all the dash lights you want resetting. Check the fuse first - replace if blown If that does not fix it, pull the tubes off the spray outlets in the hood to see if fluid come out of the hoses when the switch is used, If it does, the problem will be blocked jets - probably with wax. If nothing comes out of the tubes, you have a failed washer pump OR a fault in the wiring. The latter can be checked with a probe or multimeter. There should be 12+ volts on the positive side. Also check the ground wire with the ohmeter - a common fault

Hi in my experience this can be caused by a few things But I would advice checking these 3 first 1.Check alternator output by connecting a multimeter to your battery after starting engine it should read between 14 and 15 volts 2 battery. get it checked see if it's holding a good charge and has good craNking amps. 3 faulty brake switch. it's tucked up behind the brake pedal.(touching the brake peddle stem) Easy to get access to after you have located it, and it's a simple twist and pop it out with no tools needed. There are videos on YouTube to help u if u struggle with any of these. There are other issues like check if there's water in passenger footwell. Hope this has helped.

Just give it time to dry or take it out and dry it.

There is a splice joint under the passenger side sill plate, under the second plate, about adjacent to the right front seat mounting. Split the harness open. Look for a blue tape with three thin green with white stripe wires. Open the tape. The joint is corroded and broken apart. This feeds the alarm rf receiver. Have you checked he obvious things - like a bubble on the inside of the tire? Unlikely, but also check the tire is not rubbing against the body. If you can't identify the source in this way, go to a reliable tire centre (NOT a Land Rover dealer), They will put the vehicle onto a hoist for a more thorough inspection. I rather doubt this will turn out to be anything too serious

Sounds horribly like a leaking heater hose or the heater core on the way out. The other option might be the aircon drain. Remove the cover panel under the dashboard, get a torch and inspect all visible hoses

You will not fix this yourself. You need to get the fault codes read by a professional shop that can identify the cause - most probably a faulty connection, or a failed control unit

Could be several things, but it will save you time and money if you do some preliminary investigation yourself. There is a good chance the noise is nothing more serious than a broken exhaust mount. Get underneath (when the engine is cold) and shake the pipe where it exits the vehicle - you will soon see if the rubber mount is broken, Another possibility is a worn suspension bush - look around to see if all the bushes appear to be intact. Another possibility is a worn prop-shaft universal - ditto None of these jobs should be expensive to have fixed, but it will save you being ripped off if you know in advance what might be the cause

Yes it seems that a drain is blocked or a seal is leaking. A possible DIY fix is to get under the vehicle with an air line, find the 4 tubes for the drains that exit next to the pillars and blow them clear. Fixing defective seals is much more work and it will probably be best to get it done by a sunroof specialist - NOT a Land Rover dealer. The cost may be nasty but better than either living with the leak OR spending hours on it if you do not know precisely whet you are doing

This is not a problem you should try to solve. The workshop obviously stuffed up and it is their job to fix it, even if they have to end the vehicle elsewhere to get it right, Do NOT be nice about it! My guess is that the ECU needs to be reset and only an experienced Land Rover shop will have the gear and experience to do it correctly

My porsche had the same issues maybe wa ter damage or corrosion in the fuse box they wrote my cayenne turbo off because of it
