check all fuses and relays does the light on the dash come on and is the switch ok or unplugged as well you have a electric motor on the transfer case if its unplugged or burnt it wont engage it looks like a wiper motor at the end of the transmission

I've checked both of my repair manuals for this vehicle. One is Chiltons, the other is Haynes. They both discuss a Mass Airflow Sensor, but no mention of a MAP. I then checked the book covering my GMC S-15 and found the MAP, but no MAF sensor. Since the location is different, depending on engine size, my best advice is for you to obtain the same repair manual. It has pictures and leads you step-by-step through the replacement procedure. Either the new battery does not have a full charge in it or the security system and engine immobilizer needs resetting. If battery voltage drops below 11 volts, there isn't enough power to operate the fuel injectors.
