One of the accelerator position sensors may be bad putting it into limp home mode . Have it scanned for codes and post them here .

Attempt to open manually. With the gate open use the remote to close. If the support pistons lose their gas pressure the gate will close automatically but not have the force to open Replace the gas piston on the passenger side. If something is blocking the sensor will also prohibit the lift gate from opening. Hope this helps?.

Crank sensor is common problem on these. They are interminate and usually cut out when hot and will restart after they cool off. Connectors and even oil in the connections from leaks.

Could be something as simple as a dirty fuel filter. Get a can of quick start at the store and have someone start it up, when it wants to die squirt a shot into the intake ... if it runs again for a bit you have a fuel delivery issue. Check the fuel pressure to see if the pump is functioning properly.

what lights, be clear, there are like 10 or more lights there. warning lights, illumination? so the guages stick high, do say what they do and where they end up.? name all lights that flash, is car battery charged up? at 12.6vdc rested. does car start? does car drive ok> do headlights work perfectly? my other shoe drops, do tell all good, bad and ugly and pretend we are blind, we are. the cluster you mean the dash is huge thing, with lots of stuff there. radio is part of dash the cluster on this jeep is really a stand alone digital display. it has 2 power pins, and 2 ground pins. for power and 2 fuses. (are they both good and not loose") the CLuster brain, is a computer too. as are most modules in this car. if it has power it boots up with PCM with key turn and attempts to link up communications with the PCM and sync, up odometer readings. and all other indications on the cluster are synced, now. if you bet comm errors it will do odd things. but we scan it next. using any scan tools (even $5 one with canbus) we scan it and see errors. i bet you do. and that, tells you whats wrong.

first is diagnosis. you examine and test it. to see if its electrical or mech. failure. and once discovered that follow that to logical conclusions.
