if its a threded type tighten it if clip type seal may have not sealed correctly

leave car on flat surface and engine cooled-off...then remove dip stick check, wipe and recheck oil. It should be within the markers indicated

crank sensor most likeley cause of prob, located above front of crank pulley. but check ignition supply to injectors/ign system.

The manual handbrake is cable operated. If it has been adusted regularly during the 30 years of operation, it will probably not have any adjustment capability left. The adjustment is by use of an adjustment screw that you will see under the car. My car is a 1983 Jaguar and it has this problem. I am unable to obtain a replacement cable at present and am considering getting my mechanic to shorten the existing cable. I rely on the transmission parking lock to hold the car when parked.

Hi John, I know nothing about the XJ6 but there are many websites that will show you a wiring diagram for your vehicle.

It is located in the tank and you can access it from the top of the tank.

which engine do you have 3.2 L / 4.0 L / 6.0 L

Could be for many reasons , but you need to check electricals for the sensor and make sure that there is no open circuit. If electric is good , then your problem is with the sensor itself , probably need changing

First thing is to locate the relay/fuse for it it and make sure they are still ok...before considering on how much to fix. Should not be more than $100 parts and labor if you use a junkyard to get it.

Looks like the carb's need Tuning / Balance, but first start with compression test, plugs and leads 1986 prob still on points? check condenser, then do the carb's

Your Car is equipped with an Electronic Security System. If you disable it (which most probably you can not), you will bet on security of your car. If you still want to disable it, you should contact your Dealer or Authorized Service Station with Purchase Bill. If possible, they'll change locking system to old one.

i'd take to a jag specialist as they will know the exact alarm jaguar used on your model as they use a lot of other make equipment and you do need to know jags to get the right part for the particular vehicle, you could try a jaguer forum as these places are full of info like that

Spark plugs to be unscrewed properly and carefully out of place , and to make sure when you put back that it is done properly and in place slowly and easy by hand to make sure that you are doing it as per the threads in the engine , if threads go bad you will have a big problem to correct. If the plugs have oil on them from the spark end , means the engine is kicking oil to the plugs and that could mean that the piston rings are weak. You could always use the proper tools as attached to pull the plugs out

Check trans oil level...if to high, this will occur
