Hyundai Elantra - Popular Questions, Answers, Tips & Manuals - Page 3

Air leak. The mechanic could have determined this by opening the sunroof and closing it on a strip of heavy paper, working around the perimeter. The easier the paper is to remove, the more likely there is a gap in the sealing gasket. Uneven sealing can occur side to side if the front hinges are misaligned as a result of a production hurry-up on the assembly line. Finally, the air leak could be a result of gasket shrinkage.

The license lamps and the tail lamps are on the same circuit. If the tail lamps work, there must be some fault in the license lapm circuitry.

You shorted something out. Check all fuses and relays. I think you blew a relay not a fuse.

Do you have a digital odometer? If you see it working the check engine light bulb should be there.I would try a used known good dash speedometer assembly first as it should cost almost nothing and takes 10 mins to change.

No, the key should have buttons and that opens and locks the door.

If the key has no buttons, it is a Valet Key which usually doesn't start the car as it has no chip. There are also Emergency keys which are flat in a case and do have the chips to start.

The other possibility is that the battery is flat.

There is a battery in the key fob. Does an LED light up when you press the button.

You should have at least two keys with the car.
