Prob with honda prealude runs when it wants to will start fine one min then u turn it off and it wont start seems like no fire to cioil
what engine?
fails hot engine, or cold engine and what engine of the many?
seems dont work in repairs.
ever do a tuneup ever?
sinces it sometimes runs we can check off bad engine. of the 4.
here they are. NO STARTS:
1: loss of 12vdc electric power to the EFI system. (dash lights dim?)
2: bad engine (skip this)
3: bad spark , seems is not an option here, we test all spark at all cylinders using a good new test spark plug.
Its a honda, and we check timing, too,, using , a timing light.
if the spark is good and timing is bad, then the timing belt slipped
if it slips more, the valve in the head bend. end of motor.
sometimes no starts, saves the engine, from itself. so i do spark 100% or better, on all honda's, i do a cylinder leak down test by hand
so i dont MAKE IT WORSE. (it's and interference engine)
4: bad fueling, flooding or starvation, readling spark plug tips tells me
which it is.
3.0L & 3.2L is Non-Interference , no engine stated. so ....
My honda prelude 88 won't
DOES IT CRANK OVER/IF NO CLEAN YOUR BATTERY CABLES AND CHARGE OR REPLACE YOUR BATTERY.IF STILL NOT STARTING PULL ONE SPARK PLUG OUT AND CHECK FOR SPARK.THEN CHECK FOR FUEL/
Just replaced timing and doesnt start
On the cranck pulley there are 2 timing spots. The first one that you want is a single notch, that is the tdc mark, the group of 3 marks are the timing marks after it is running.
Hi I'm the one with the 91 manual fuel injection prelude and I also wanna say tht my gauges for my gas r past full tank n dnt tell me how much gas I got would tht have anything to do with the fuel tan
Overfilling your gas tank is not a good thing to do. You see, there is a carbon canister that is supposed to filter the air space that is taken up by the gas as you fill up. It's purpose is to remove evaporative emissions and reduce air pollution. If your car is backfiring, it usually means that your car's engine is running rich... getting too much fuel. I would check your EGR as the ECU has the additional air from the EGR factored in to burn cleanly. If the EGR is faulty and doesn't allow the extra air to get into the combustion chamber, the engine will run rich and backfire. Replacing the distributor cap and rotor, and OEM type spark plugs every two years isn't a bad thing to do. Using long-life DENSO Iridium plugs is a better option for plugs. There is also one of two Oxygen sensors screwed into your exhaust pipe to help adjust mixture with the car's computer (ECU)... these may also require replacing with new ones made by the OEM (DENSO is the OEM). The first thing you need to consider is buying a fault code reader and a Haynes manual for your car. The fault code reader will help you narrow down exactly what may be the problems. Look in the emission control section of the manual to tell you what the fault code numbers mean. Basic fault code readers aren't expensive.
Check enging light is on
YOU NEED TO HOOK UP A SCANNER AT AUTOZONE FOR FREE. THEY LET YOU BORROW ONE OR THEY'LL DO IT FOR FREE FOR YOU. THEN READ THE CODES, OF WHATS CAUSING YOUR PROBLEM. WRITE THEM DOWN SEND THEN BACK. DELETE THE CODE AND RESET THE LIGHT ALSO. RUN IT AND SEND YOUR CODES HERE IF YOU LIKE ....IF YOU TAKE IT TO A SHOP THEY CHARGE JUST TO CHECK THE CODES. HOPE THIS HELPS AND DONT FORGET TO SEND A FEEDBACK THANSK
I have a 92 prelude and it is over heating. Not
Transmission could be running hot. Most times tranny fluid also runs through the sides of the radiator. Or a transmission cooler somewhere near the radiator and in some cases will make temp gauge rise
