The DRL (daytime running lights) module on a 2000 Savannah van is typically located under the hood, near the front of the vehicle. It may be mounted to the inner fender, the firewall, or another nearby location. In some cases, it may be necessary to remove a panel or access cover in order to locate the DRL module.
To find the DRL module, you may want to consult the owner's manual for your vehicle, as it should have detailed information on the location of various components. You can also try searching online for more specific information about the location of the DRL module on your particular model of Savannah van. If you are unable to locate the DRL module, or if you are unsure of how to access it, you may want to consider seeking the assistance of a mechanic or automotive technician.
savana 1500, 2500 or 3500? wow not told.
4.3 v6, or 5.0v8 or 5.7v8????????
do not mix up part between the 3, ok.
ICM (no DTC error told( but is bad distributor.
no engine told at all , not one clue.
most 1999 cars do that, its 23 years old. a GOOD RUN !
check all fuses first/?
the starter motor works, so not that, it;s the below. wrong.
the engines stalls. is the complaint. simple words stalls.
caused by vast things, but in MACRO statements the gasliine otto cycle engine tech.
1: bad engine;. (or cat melted or air cleaner packed up)
2: bad spark
3: bad fueling
#1 means bad engine or can not breath and pump air.
there are tests for each case, and when done, we learn which of the 3 paths to follow. ASE classes, weak1. coverage.. RTM?
most guys just test spark first. if all is good try test fuel if that fails we test the engine using a compression gauge. (a tool)
if spark and test fuel works we attack #3/
see how this simple logic works but yes it can be worse, for example bad rusty grounds, is this a salt belt car (salted roads)??>
if spark is bad, try a new distributor cap, rotor and HV spark wire sets and omg new spark plugs. gaped to spec.
ask how to time it if done wrong it will not start. timed dead wrong.
if spark is bad on all 6/8 cylinders and icm is ok, the spark COIL is bad.
this old engine has old SKOOL spark plugs and wires
NO COPS here, no coil over plug at all
and spark tests are x10 more easy.
so we check spark and timing on all 6 (1500,4.3L) plugs
not just one, all plugs must spark ,
never me seen spark wires good 23 years old never. that old.
I have timing light that lets me check that #1 fires even cranking.
timed to the damper pulley DTC 0degr mark.
(i say that because seen distributors installed wrong vast times)
good spark and timed right #1 plug.
lets say sparks good and test fuel works for 3 seconds each try.
well fuel pressure is next or fuel filter packed. (in line filter there)
the spec for fuel is in the service manual, and has FPR fuel pressure regulator that love to fail 20+ years old sure.
if FPR vacuum Nipplee leaks fuel the FPR is bad (slam dung no gauge needed or that stark error)
FPR test is 2 or 3 test. per manual;
keyon pressure, and idle and WOT.
you can only do keyon. dead engine.
all data I posted is for 1500 engine and not told.
PFR pressure.4.3L in the chapter injector balance test.
(48-52?psi) pump running
on a dead engine key on 3 times to get max possible pressure.
if savvy a tech uses a vacuum hand pump and pumps it to
20inches Hg. vacuum at the FPR nipplee (hose off)and sees pressure drop by 6PSI (this would be idle pressure ii engine ran)
so say keyon is 50, and 44psi is idle, and wot tries to hit 50 )
this is how the FPR works on MPI engines.
see how a tool like this tests a dead engine? sure does.
that is it , all else would be based on all tests so far.
any 1999, (i'd be doing compression tests on it if all spark tests pass and fuel pressure is good)
sure would.
watch Scotty K do his short video.
cranks but does not start words clear.

gas (petrol)_ engines.
I had an older gmc s15. After installing a aftermarket stereo it did the same thing. Believe it or not it ended up being the headlight dimmer Switch had gone bad and was already pulling alot of juice. The new stereo just made it trip and blow the fuse alot faster.
The fuel pump receives signal to pump from the ECU, but firstly, you need to find out whether the pump is working, does it cycle when you turn the key on with a whiring noise or sound. This is the initial priming, where the pump turns or cycles to create pressure in the common rail or injectors prior to the actual startup when you turn the key to start engine position. If fuses are all ok, go by process of elimination. unplug the feed to the pump, usually under back seat of a sedan or at back of a truck and use a tester or test lamp to see if there is voltage to the pump. if there is, next power the pump with 12volts directly from battery at the points where the power shows on the supply plug of the pump but keep the feed plug off preferably so feed the male pins on the pump side of the plug or male plug with female casing fixed to the pump but on pins that correspond to the pins on other plug that supple the pos and neg power from battery. If pump does not run when you feed power to the pins from a battery directly, then the pump is toast. Hope that helps and makes some sense.
up under the dash should be in the fuse block, turn on 4 way flasher and you will hear it there are 2 of them once you find them you can put a finger on it and feel it to see witch one is not working one is emergancy flasher and one for turning signals
Hi, there are separate fuses for the left and right side, so the likely problem is the headlight switch itself. The switch is held in by 4 tabs as you can see in the pic below. See if you can depress the tabs from the back. If not, you may be able to slip a really small screwdriver or knife in thru the front to depress the tabs one at a time while pulling the switch assembly out. With the switch pulled out, check to see if the tail lights will come on with the switch on and while you giggle the connectors on the back. If you can get them to come on, you may just need to bend the pins slightly to help them make better contact. Otherwise, replace the switch.
cartrigde type is locted at the top of the crossmember just forward of the gas tank on driver side of the vehicle,,,,,,,,non cartradge type located on front of the fuel tank..
