1987 gmc pickup 4.3 v6 cranks but won't start and its getting fuel
John, Do you have any engine codes, these trucks with that engine were well known to have Distributor and cap problems(getting moisture in them) because of a vent in assy. plugging.
If you have not replaced in a while, change cap and rotor, probably would not hurt to do plugs and wires too while your at it.
How to replace fuel injecters on gmc 1/2 pickup 5.0
Hey man this should be a simple swap out. First take off your battery cables. Next unplug all the injectors that you are going to replace. Now there are a few way injectors are usually mounted. There should be some kind of bracket holding them in ether one large one for all injectors on each side of the engine or one for each individual. Once you have that off the injector should come out of the engine then just the reverse of the removal.

Installed new distibutor now cant
the best way is to take out #1 spark plug. put a straw or similar on top of piston. turn engine by front damper pulley on nut. when the piston gets to the very top and just starts to go down, this is #1 position. but it can be off 180 degrees also. if piston is all the way up the rotor button should be pointing to #1 post in cap. then it should start, and just turn distributor to set the timing ( where engine runs best ). tighten down clamp on dist. then thats it! dont forget to put plug back in engine, good-day! if you turned engine both ways and it still is off, get the engine on #1 and pull dist. out and set it to #1. by hand.

Hello,
I read your problem , and your description of the symptom. There is only two things this could be. Number one is your tire is badly out of alignment/ balance. Number two is the wheel barring. Both will cause these symptoms. However my money is on your wheel barring is bad. I am about 99 percent positive you have a wheel barring that has gone out. You can check this yourself by jacking up the back of truck, and pulling on the whole tire ( tugging toward you and away from you) if you have excess play, wheel barring is shot. Needs to be placed and packed. Another problem in addition if wheel barring is bad, because it has made your rear tire go all over and wobble, have it looked at to see if has worn uneven due to bad wheel bearing, otherwise even after replacing wheel barring, tire could wobble some, loose life span, or even blow out. I hope this helps. Mike

It's bolted to the bottom of the engine block at the rear. You need to take off the oil pan to see it.
