2007 GMC Envoy WILL START, starter will not disengage. New ignition switch, will not disengage. Why?

Question edited for funky spelling and punctuation. Question moved to model category. Jeff provides a great answer to the issue
  • Jeff Armer Jan 02, 2023. Starter relay contacts stuck closed could be a reason .
  • Circuit Description Moving the ignition switch to the START position sends a 12 volt signal to the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) Crank Request circuit. The ECM/PCM verifies that the transmission is in the PARK or NEUTRAL position. With the transmission in Park, voltage flows through the Park/Neutral position switch and feeds the starter relay coil. The ECM/PCM then grounds the control circuit of the starter relay. When the starter relay is energized it allows battery positive voltage to the starter solenoid S terminal. On some vehicles the starter will continue to crank the engine with the key released until it starts or the crank command has timed out to prevent excessive heat build up in the starter circuitry or the ECM/PCM receives an engine run flag.

Get only cold air on passenger side of 2007 Envoy.

My guess is blend door actuators, or a programming issue due to the flat battery. You can check the BDAs, but for programming you need a good auto-electrician and a Pro Quality scan tool computer..

My interior lights on my 2007 GMC envoy will not go off and draining my battery, now my car won't start

Start by checking for a bad switch at the lights and the doors. This will take a little work to get to the switch. I've seen a bad door switch keep the light on.

Why doesn't rear axle come out after removing the c clips?

remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement. Remove the rear wheel speed sensor. Refer to Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement. Remove the rear axle housing cover and the gasket. Refer to Rear Axle Housing Cover and Gasket Replacement (8.0/8.6 Inch Axle) ' Rear Axle Housing Cover and Gasket Replacement (9.5 Inch Axle). Remove the pinion shaft locking bolt On axles without a locking differential, remove the pinion shaft. (learn what locker means and does) or read the RPO list on car. On axles with a locking differential, remove the shaft part way. Rotate the case until the pinion shaft touches the housing.
  1. On axles with a locking differential, use a screwdriver, or a similar tool, in order to enter the differential case and rotate the C-lock?(1) until the C-lock aligns with the thrust block?(2).
  2. Push the flange of the axle shaft?(1) toward the differential.
remove the C-lock from the button end of the axle shaft. read the manual first. if he bearing is seized up and they can swell up and be tight the slide hammer is the only cure here. and is always best to use. (after all pre steps on 3 different axle types) not told by you. 1 get the RPO first from GM 2; then read the manual. 3: then act. easy as 1,2,3 ,not guessing and doing damage.

I have a 2007 envoy that had a problem with the tire monitor sensor light coming on..our mechanic but in all four sensors and the light still is on..do you have a suggestion

Get another mechanic, and try to get a refund for what was charged for the four sensors replaced. Or, have the mechanic complete the repair at no additional cost.

Midgate closed window up dash says midgate ajar. Its fully closed

Hello Anonymous, These system are controlled by an electronic module that should send a fault code to the BCM (Body Control Module) and accessed via the DLC (Diagnostic/Data Link Connector) if a fault is present. Some Auto parts stores will connect a OBDII scanner to your vehicle for free and provide you with a starting point should any fault codes be present. Fault code scanning is always the first step in trouble shooting a problem.

How can I remove valve cover?

4.2 engine? It takes a bit to get it off. Why do you want to get to them? I can say these aren't your problem. And if they are, you have other problems that replacing them is only a short term fix.

My problem is when driving, the engine rattles bad especially when accelerating, I had noticed my oil level looked empty

Most engines take at least 5 quarts of oil. Have you check the dip stick to see how much is in there?

My trans shift lever push button will not push in when engine is running and brake pedal is pushed down

Check to see if you have brake lights. If the brake light switch under the dash is broken or mis-aligned it can cause the shift lock to stay on

How can I replace passenger side fender?

Too many unknowns here. How bad is the fender damaged? Is there any damage to other parts of the body that the fender attaches to? If so, then let a body shop do it because they have the equipment necessary to straighten those body parts. If you still want to give it a go, then take out all the bolts and other fasteners that attach other things to the fender like hose clamps, plastic reservoirs etc. The inner fender well has bolts that have to be removed from the fender. The fender itself has bolts accessible from under the hood. Get them all out and any stiffener rods at the front of the fender. There are a couple of bolts on the bottom of the fender where it meets the body nearest the front door. You have to get those from underneath. Keep track of where all the bolts and fasteners go so reassembly will go smoothly.

How to fix my rear tailgate window

check the fuse/relay. if it is neither of these check the switch with a multimeter. If you can hear the motor trying to move the glass when you try the switch it may be the regulator needs attention. It may be the motor needs to be replaced. check fuse and relay along with the switch first then the regulator and motor afterwards. Replacing the small electronics is obviously easier than having to open up the tailgate to check the mechanics of the winedow.
