When last did you service the car? Why not get it scan to pin point the problem the computer should recognize that problem because it can be a number of things that cause that problem

timming marks are located on crank pulley, but is easier to adjust the timming using a screwdriver on piston #1

The Datsun 1200 car was made by Nissan motor company limited. Why 1200 because it had an engine size of approximately 1200 cc. in Japan it was known as datsun sunny 1200. Point gap can be set using a match book cover. It will be about 0.015. The set the dwell angle base on how the engine runs. In a four-cylinder engine, the angle between each ignition cam lobe is 90° and the period of points closure or "DWELL" is usually a bit over 45° of distributor rotation. In a six-cylinder engine, the lobes are 60° apart and the dwell time is 30° to 35°.

first remove the wire you hook up rear tail and break circuit. (1)install ground wire to the frame (2)turn on the head light switch and go to the rear to find the +12 volt on the wire then hook it up to the led tail circuit, it should only light up that circuit but if both still come on then the new led unit is not config right. Replace it or have it modified. if only the tail circuit is on then go to (3)cut off the head light switch and have someone step on the break peddle then fine the +12 volt on the wire and hook it up to the brake led circuit.(only the brake circuit should be on) hope this help you. .

If you are talking of Voltage regulator, this thing is still enclosed with another metal box under the hood. This is based only on my first car 1978 Datsun 180B.You still have to open other metal box under the hood. Usually placed on the side near the fender. This should not be visible easily because of being a delicate electrical part. Hope you find it then

If none of the gauges work it may be a cluster ground bad or loose or the instrument cluster regulator is bad .

save yourself time unless a DIYer have the garage check out alternator .. they do exchange units if faulty.

I'm almost sure it's the coil, you must change it or add a resistor

that pump has a long neck

you need to remove the spark plug 1 in front of the engine and check that it is at its highest point, then remove the distributor cap and adjust the time so that the rotor matches the spark plug wire 1 and you're done.
