No diagram for 3.1 chevy malibu

These instructions are for the 3.1 L engine with serpentine belt. To change the belt, you need to remove the engine mount first. But before you do that, you must support the engine so it won't tilt after you remove the engine mount bolts. You would also need at least one helper. Here's step by step: 1. Use a jack and a long enough wooden block to cover the oil pan. Larger block will distribute the forces better. Don't use only a jack or a small block, it might crack the oil pan. Note: normally, you shouldn't lift engine by the oil pan, you should use an engine hoist, but carefully support with wooden block works. 2. Slowly raise the jack to support the engine. 3. Unscrew (Counter Clock Wise) the 2 bolts and 2 nuts of the engine mount. It's on the passenger side right next to the serpentine belt. 4. Loosen the tensioner bolt, and remove the old belt. You may have to raise the engine a bit to get a big enough gap to slide the belt through. 5. Put in the new belt and route it according to the diagram, you may have to leave it off one of the pulley because the tensioner is so tight. Don't worry, you'll slide it on later. 6. Put tighten the tensioner back on. Make sure the round metal pin goes in the appropriate slot. 7. Here's the hard part, putting the belt entirely on the pulleys. You have to either: a) Put a 3/8" ratchet in to the slot near the tension pulley that says "LIFT" and pull really hard to compress the spring, while putting the belt on the one of the pulley. Unless you are Arnold, you will need help. b) Pull a rope behind the tension pulley arm and pull while pushing with your left arm on the pulley arm to compress the spring; then get another person to hook the belt on one of the pulleys. 8. Put the engine mount back on. 9. Test run the engine to make sure you didn't mess up. Turn on accessories like A/C. If the temperature goes way up, you messed up. The water pump might be spinning the wrong way. Note: If you don't have a good floor jack, you can jack up the car, place a support under the oil pan, then slowly lower the car until the engine is supported. In this case, jack-stands or blocks under the frame are a good idea to avoid lowering too far

Where is fuse in fuse box on chevy malibu 2004

There are 2 fuse panels in car, 1 under hood and the second under drivers side of dash, above hood release area. Radio fuse should be under dash, most likely a blue(15amp) fuse. The fuse panel glossery should be on inside cover of fuse panel or in owners manual under fuses in glossery.

Doors don't lock while in drive or unlock when i put it in park. 2003 chevy malibu.

Ignition locks are a feature that can be programmed. Don't think door switch should have any effect unless a pic chip is present in switch and needs to be married to the bcm.

2002 chevy malibu high idleing 3500 rpm when parked

Might need a new IAC, idle air control. If it is stuck open it can cause a high idle condition. Or you could have a vacuum leak. Is there a suction/whistle kind of Sound from the engine compartment that sounds new?

Changing Thermostat 2008 Chevrolet Malibu

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
NOTE: When adding coolant, it is important that you use GM Goodwrench DEX-COOL® (orange colored, silicate free) coolant meeting GM specifications. On these vehicles, if silicated coolant is added to the system, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result. In addition, the engine coolant will require change sooner; at 30,000 miles (48,000km) or 24 months.

CAUTION
Never open, service or drain the radiator or cooling system when hot; serious burns can occur from the steam and hot coolant. Also, when draining engine coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze and could drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantities. Always drain coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is several years old.

2.4L Engine
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Properly drain and recover the coolant to a level below the thermostat.
Unfasten the cover-to-outlet pipe bolt, which is accessible through the exhaust manifold runners.
Raise and safely support the vehicle.
Disconnect the radiator and heater hoses from the outlet pipe.
Unfasten the outlet pipe-to-oil pan bolt and the cover-to-outlet pipe bolts.
Remove the thermostat, then clean the old gasket material from the mating surfaces.

I need a diagram showing me where the thermastat

You should be able to follow the top radiator hose over from the radiator. There will be a cover that the hose goes to. It should have two bolts that hold it on and the thermostat is under that cover.

I have a 2013 malibu 2.0 turbo wont start . We've replaced both crank and cam sensors also both VVT sensors . Car started right up then shut it off. Tried to start it again it just cranks.

First let's see what's missing, fuel, spark or both. Do this remove a plug wire or coil on plug the insert a screwdriver into the boot and then hold the metal part of the screwdriver 1/2in. from a metal part of the engine block then have someone crank the engine while you watch for spark. Check fuel, do this remove the cap from the fuel rail test port and depress the schraeder valve while someone turns the switch on, fuel should spray out. NOTE to avoid fire do these tests in this order. I wonder about your fuel pump. I hope this helps. Take care.
