Hello tawnya369: My name is Roger and I will help you. You will find the fuel filter located on the rear cross member just forward of the fuel tank. Be careful as the fuel system is under high pressure. You will need to access the filter from under the car. Should you need further help please just ask. Thank You for using Fix Ya.Roger
2008 Chevy Malibu LT 2.4 Cluster Gauges Not Working
Make sure your ignition switch is working first (does everything light up and working with the key in "ON" position) then try ACC position, does the radio work? If all that checks out then it would be the stepper motors on the instrument cluster are bad, there are several repair kits available pretty cheap since they are a common problem
How to replace a thermostat on a 2012 malibu ltz 3.6l?
You need to partially drain the cooling system. THe thermostat housing is located on the driver side of the engine block above the transmission bell-housing. Just follow the big radiator hose on the driver side and it will lead you to the housing.THere are the radiator hose, two heater hoses, and another hose leading to the surge tank that you will need to remove from the housing. 3 bolts secure the housing to the block- remove these bolts and remove the housing. You can now remove and replace the thermostat and install a new gasket- i would recommend coating the gasket in SIL-Glyde or Vaseline. Torque the bolts to 89inlb, re connect the hoses. Refill cooling system with antifreeze and burp all the air out.
2005 Chevy Malibu. Does anyone know which wire to cut to deactivate passkey mod on regular 2005 Malibu?
Question edited for clarity and typos.
Question moved from Television and Video category.
Tweakers messing with alarm and immobilizer systems is a nightmare. Only they know what they did. It is a complex system of the chip in the key, the transponder, the ECM, the BCM, the Ignition Module and the antitheft sensors. The best solution is to take it to an auto electrician or an alarm installer and put it back to how it is supposed to be. The only wiring diagram that is accurate and you can follow is the factory service wiring diagram.
I can't figure out where
the 2004 malibu does not have a place to put transmission fluid it has a electric power steering system and does not use fluid, if you are having a problem with the power steering light chimming and lighting up this is under a recall that chevy has obligated to fix. So if your car is doing this take it to your local chevy dealership and have them to repair it for you. Hope this helps.
Air conditioner won't stay on.
'64 could be right, but these Malibu's also have a tendency to go through HVAC head control units, among other things. I have taken the head unit out of mine and cleaned the contacts, etc...with some success. However, from what I've seen, this is just a temporary fix. These units run upwards of $200 at a dealer, but you can get one online for just over $100. It is a really easy install.
Other common problems include:
-Cruise control modules going bad (cruise kicks off at will)
-Bad resistor on fan blower (only speeds 3-5 will work)
-Front coil springs breaking
-Front brakes wear funny, excessive wear
-Moisture in headlight housings
