Where do I check the transmission fluid at on a 2004 Chevy Malibu Classic
you would need to jack up the vehicle to get under it , on the side of transaxel is a plug . Remove plug , if fluid trickles out , it's full . your best bet , take it to jiffy lube or someother quick lube place .
The oil level control plug (65) is located on the torque converter side of the transmission.

Start the engine and allow the engine to idle until the transmission fluid temperature has reached the value specified.
Depress the brake pedal and move the shift lever through the gear ranges, pausing a few seconds in each range. Return the shift lever to the PARK range.
Notice: Refer to Transmission Fluid Vent Cap Removal Notice in the Preface section.
Remove the fluid vent cap (only 2004 Z body Malibu models).
Raise the vehicle on a hoist. The vehicle must be level, with the engine running and the shift lever in the PARK range. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
Caution: The engine must be running when the transmission fluid fill plug is removed, or excessive fluid loss will occur. Transmission fluid may be hot. Since the actual fluid level is unknown, stand clear when removing the fill plug. Have a container ready to capture any lost fluid. Do not turn the engine off with the fill plug removed, as you can be injured by hot transmission fluid being expelled out of the oil fill opening.
Remove the transmission oil level control plug (65). See drawing above.
2006 chevy Malibu lt no low beam head lights no power at fuses swapped relays had power at 2 locations at relay location but still no power at fuses.
The relay isn't being energized (turned on ) That's why there is no power to the fuse's . Probably the switch is bad , but without testing that would be a guess . Have someone switch the headlamps from high to low , do you feel the relay click on ? Does the car have auto light's ? do they work ? Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? How to read one ? Use a volt meter to test electric circuits ? Free wiring diagrams here
http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb Enter vehicle info. year , make , model an engine . Under system click on lighting , then under subsystem click headlamp's . You should see battery voltage at two of the relay pin's , If you look on the bottom of the relay you should see four set's of numbers 30 ,87 & 85 , 86 . If you jumped pin 30 & 87 together with a piece of wire the light's should work . Jump where the relay plugs into the fuse / relay box , not the pin's on the relay . The switch isn't giving ground anymore , this would energize the relay turning on the low beams . Check out the wiring diagram , hope these makes sense .
Cooling Fan 2 (A/C Fan) not blowing
Hi Everyone,
Hopefully this will help someone.
My 2002 Malibu, 3.1L V6 has been running hot in the afternoon summers here in AZ. Once it got close to the red line which really was unnerving. Immediately I turned the heater on (to use its radiator) to help cool the engine. Lately it has been running about about 3/4 of the Temp Gauge - over 220. YIKES!!! So, I did this.....
Open the FUSE / RELAY COVER SCREW (located in the black box next to the brake reservoir. NOTE - BRING A MAGNIFYING GLASS TO USE - THE PRINT ON THE BACK OF THE FUSE/RELAY COVER IS EVERY HARD TO READ)
**** Check FUSE 55 - COOL FAN #2 - GRND 30 A
**** CHECK FUSE 52 - COOL FAN #2 - 15 A
**** CHECK FUSE 8 - COOL FAN #1 - 30 A
ALSO go ahead swap four relays - Make sure there is no corrosion (Mine DID have a little) and Clean it up good.
SWAP (SWITCH ONE FOR ANOTHER) THE TWO 7234 - RELAYS -- #15 - COOLFAN MODE & #13
ALSO SWAP THE SWAP (SWITCH) the 7236 RELAYS.
In my case it was the Fuse 52 - Cool Fan #2 - WHAT A RELIEF!!!
BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL !!!!

Malibu 2003," how do you reset the brain if the sercurity ani-ti theft system light isn't on
When you first turn on the key the security light doesn't come on ? Is this what your saying ? You don't reset anything , you look at factory service repair manual for diagnostic steps to take to find the problem . And if you don't have factory service repair manual info. you take it to someone you does . Dealer .

2007 malibu, driving 65 mph, power steering warning on dic, error on odometer, speedometer quit working, transmission downshifts rpm to 5000 (i guesslimp mode),shut off in drive way, now won't start.
what do I try next? You take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop. You have no idea of the complexity of the electronic's on your vehicle . Disconnecting battery cables an touching them is not the answer . Having a qualified professional with proper diagnostic tools checking computer system's is . One bad module on the GMLAN serial data network is all it takes for a no start . You have no idea what happens when you turn the key to start your vehicle.
Circuit Description
For ignition switch power modes refer to Body Control System Description and Operation. Once the ignition is placed in the Run/Crank position, the control circuit of the Run/Crank relay is grounded by the body control module (BCM). With the Run/Crank relay switch closed, battery positive voltage flows through it and on to the park/neutral position (PNP) switch. With the PNP switch in either the Park or Neutral position, battery positive voltage will flow to the starter relay coil supply voltage input terminal of the engine control module (ECM) and the coil side of the starter relay. Placing the ignition in the START position sends a message to the engine control module ECM requesting engine start. If the ECM has determined that the transmission is in Park or Neutral and theft is not active, it will ground the control circuit of the starter relay. Battery positive voltage will then flow through the switch side of the starter relay to the S terminal of the starter solenoid, cranking the engine.
Also with power steering warning on ,DTC'S are stored in the control module for the electric power steering an or the BCM - body control module . I have seen bad power steering control modules short out the data bus (network) .
Do yourself a favor an take it to a qualified repair shop.
