2008 cadillac cts awd sunroof & shade will not open.

Is there anything else to check before changing the motors ? Yeah , hook up a factory or some other type of professional scanner an check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes, also to see if the scanner will communicate with the modules. Changing batterys without a alternate power supply can cause modules to go to sleep permanently. Battery Disconnect Problems (aa1car.com) Power Sunroof System Components The Power Sunroof and Sunshade System consists of the following components: • Sunroof control module • Sunshade control module • Sunroof switch • Sunshade switch • Rail and track assembly upon which the sunroof and sunshade glass rides • S/ROOF/SUNSHADE Fuse 30 A • Body control module (BCM) Don't be a parts changer, learn how to diagnose! So before you go wasting your money on parts not needed see if a professional scanner can communicate with all the modules on the vehicle. The Power Sunroof System will operate only with the ignition turned to the RUN or Accessory positions, this allows for retained accessory power (RAP) control of the sunroof and sunshade through the body control module (BCM). With the ignition in the run or accessory positions, the BCM supplies the sunroof and sunshade control modules with ignition voltage which allows sunroof and sunshade operation. Once the ignition switch is turned to OFF the sunroof will continue to operate until any door is opened or when the RAP timer reaches its shut-off limit. For a description and operation of the RAP operation, refer to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) Description and Operation. Circuit/System Description The sunroof and sunroof shade modules supply each of the switch signal circuits with a 12-volt reference. When a switch is pressed the signal circuit is pulled low signaling the sunroof or sunroof shade open or close request. The modules determine the motor direction based on inputs received from the sunroof switches. When the modules reverse the polarity of the applied voltage, the motors reverse direction. The sunroof shade module contains the logic for opening and closing the sunshade based on Serial Data from the sunroof control module. Ignition voltage is supplied to the sunroof and sunroof shade modules by the BCM. B+ is applied to the sunroof and sunroof shade modules via the S/ROOF fuse. The sunroof shade module contains the logic for opening and closing the sunshade based on Serial Data from the sunroof control module. The sunroof shade module internally applies voltage and ground to the appropriate circuits of the reversible sunshade motor in order to move the sunshade panel to the open or closed positions.

2008 Cadillac SRX 3.6 L Code P2138 some times code 2122

DTC P2138: Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1-2 Correlation P2138 • The ECM detects that the voltage difference between APP sensor 1 and 2 is greater than 0.23 volt, 0.25 volt for LLT, with the pedal released. • The ECM detects that the voltage difference between APP sensor 1 and 2 is greater than 0.29 volt, 0.31 volt for LLT, with a partially pressed pedal. • The ECM detects that the voltage difference between APP sensor 1 and 2 is greater than 1.66 volts, 1.70 volts for LLT, with a fully pressed pedal. • Any of the above conditions exist, then a 5 second delay for MIL ON. Diagnostic Aids Test the current output of the 5-volt reference circuits if you suspect high resistance in the circuit. The current output should be greater than 80 mA for APP 1 and greater than 50 mA for APP 2. If you don't know how to test the 5 volt reference circuits you need to take it to a qualified repair shop. Circuit/System Verification Ignition ON, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTC P0651, P0652, P0653, P0697, P0698, or P0699 should not be set. ? If a DTC is set, refer to DTC P0641-P0643, P0651-P0653, or P0697-P0699. Observe the scan tool APP Sensor voltage parameters. Verify both of the APP sensor voltages are between 0.74-4.82 V. Rapidly depress the accelerator pedal from the rest position to the wide open throttle position (WOT) and release pedal. Repeat the procedure several times. DTCs P2122, P2123, P2127, P2128, or P2138 should not set. Slowly depress the accelerator pedal to WOT and then slowly return the pedal to closed throttle. Repeat the procedure several times. DTCs P2122, P2123, P2127, P2128, or P2138 should not set. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data. Circuit/System Testing Ignition OFF, remove the fuse that supplies B+ to terminal 56-X2 of the ECM. Disconnect the harness connector at the accelerator pedal assembly. Test for less than 5 ? between the appropriate low reference circuit of the APP sensor and ground. ? If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit of the APP sensor for a short to voltage, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit/connections test normal, replace the ECM. Install the fuse that supplies B+ to terminal 56-X2 of the ECM. Note: The 5-volt reference circuit voltage can be within the specified range with a high resistance in the circuit. If this condition is suspected, refer to Diagnostic Aids. Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.2 V between the appropriate 5-volt reference circuit of the APP sensor and ground. ? If less than the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. If the circuit/connections test normal, replace the ECM. ? If greater than the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit/connections test normal, replace the ECM. Observe the appropriate scan tool APP sensor voltage parameter. Verify the voltage is less than 0.3 volt. ? If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit of the applicable APP sensor for a short to voltage. If the circuit/connections test normal, replace the ECM. Connect a 3 A fused jumper wire between the appropriate signal circuit and the 5-volt reference circuit of the APP sensor. Verify the APP sensor voltage parameter is greater than 4.8 V. ? If less than the specified range, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit/connections test normal, replace the ECM. ? If both APP sensor voltage parameters display greater than 4.8 V test the signal circuits of the APP sensors for a shorted together condition. If the circuit/connections test normal, replace the ECM. If all circuits/connections test normal, test or replace the accelerator pedal assembly.

How do I remove cable from adjustable gas pedal on 2008 Cadillac SRX

I think on this model it is a pain in the tailbone to remove it. At the pedal end the connector is held in with 2 tiny pegs that you will need to carefully press out of the way with two small, flat bladed screwdrivers. This is one of those jobs that will either release first time or take all day and the skin off your knuckles. It will also involve a lot of cursing and swearing at the vehicle.

How do I properly wire a bypass module kit on a 2004 Cadillac Deville do I need to be below the harness at the steering column or can I just go right from the bottom of the ignition

There should be a connector at the bottom of the column, that is where I usually install the bypass, You can cut the wires to the column and not damage the main harness.

How do I do a hard reset on a 2005 Cadillac STS

Why ? What problem does the vehicle have ? Check engine light you can't get to go off an stay off ? Reset doesn't do anything except reset the adaptive memory - factory settings ,till it relearns your driving habits. If the computer system has a hard fault a reset does nothing. What is adaptive memory? As powertrain and engine control modules (PCM/ECM) incorporate feedback from a network of sensors, the computers change fuel delivery requirements based on engine RPM, load, and expected versus actual engine performance. The PCM/ECM then calculate adjustments to be stored in long term memory for future use. Locked keys in escalade

Call a locksmith. Any break-in tricks are dangerous as they could damage your vehicle (that's why it's called a break-in).If you insist, you could potentially slip a wire coat-hanger under the exterior window molding, between the door and the window to disengage the door lock. But, this might be hard to do if you don't have a clothes hanger with you.

Why is my car turning over but does not start after I changed the serpentine belt that broke on a 2003 cadillac cts 3.2l

Check the battery: Make sure the battery is fully charged and that the connections are clean and tight. A weak or dead battery can prevent the engine from starting, even if it is turning over.

1. Check the battery: Make sure the battery is fully charged and that the connections are clean and tight. A weak or dead battery can prevent the engine from starting, even if it is turning over.

2. Check the serpentine belt installation: Make sure that the new serpentine belt is properly installed and that all the pulleys are aligned and spinning freely. If the belt is misaligned or one of the pulleys is seized, it could prevent the engine from starting.

3. Check the fuel system: Check that the fuel pump is working properly and that there is fuel getting to the engine. You can check this by listening for the fuel pump when you turn the key to the "on" position and by checking the fuel pressure at the fuel rail.

4. Check the ignition system: Check that the spark plugs are firing properly and that the ignition coils are functioning correctly. You can check this by using a spark plug tester or by checking for spark at each plug.

5. Check for error codes: Use an OBD-II scanner to check for any error codes that may be stored in the vehicle's computer. These codes can give you a clue as to what is causing the issue and can help you diagnose the problem.

If you are unable to identify the issue,
