On 1980 Cadillac there is no cutoff switch, On EFI CAR they arecontroled by the computer control module, on DFI CARS there is RELAY next to the fuse also has fusePanel on the left side of car under dashDepends on size of engine. EFI CARS only have a 20 amp fuse.

well that either indicates the contacts are worn or that the servo motor for the latch needs replacing

If the code P1258 comes forth on your 1998 Cadillac Eldorado, there may be three reasons: 1. Engine Coolant Temperature harness is open or shorted 2. Engine Coolant Temperature circuit has a poor electrical connection 3. Faulty Engine Coolant Temperature Inspect all relevant connectors and he wire harness, it there are any damages, corroded, broken, or out of place components, repair if possible, otherwise replace them.

Make sure your hydraulic reservoir is full.

Cover the TV receiving area that receives the remote control signal and cover that from receiving any signals and see if the problem still exists

Behind and above glove box on passenger side.

More then likely the horn relay is stuck closed ,sounding the horns all the time . The horn gets power from the power seats circuit breaker ,no fuse . Relay located in under hood relay center .

Cadillac fuse boxes are located under the dash on the driver's side and also under the hood on the driver's side. That is the case on my 1997 Cadillac Deville. Check your manual, for your Eldorado.

You have to remove intake manifold and you will see it,yes I know it does not seem right but it's there

Are you sure it is not an electrical problem? Spray some starting fluid into the throttle body. If it starts, then it is a fuel problem. If not then you need to look at computer or sensor problems.

There's a website that has all this information about all this and manuals everything totally free there are many actually but I personally like few .. let me know if u need help thanks

You will need a steering wheel puller. You can borrow one from most auto parts stores. You will need to remove the horn airbag center to expose the bolt. Loosen the main steering wheel bolt till it's almost off then attach the puller. Keep tightening the puller till the steering wheel comes free.
