We're going to make a couple of assumptions before continuing: * The fuse for the windows has been checked and is OK. * All windows stopped working at the same time and we can assume that both switches or both window motors are not faulty. The first thing you want to do is test to see if the circuit-breaker switch is faulty which is usually down to the left by the kick panel (see photo below). Pull/pry the switch out of the panel and remove the harness plug. The plug should have just two wires in it (if not, do not perform this test, contact us for more info). Use a jumper wire to connect the two contacts in the harness plug (effectively jumpering the two wires together and mimicking the switch being closed). If the windows now work, the circuit-breaker switch is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the windows do not work, check or replace the power window relay (in the fuse-box - see photo below), If the windows still do not work, further diagnostics will need to be performed, using the vehicle wiring diagrams.

Do a check on all the fuses look for crack in the fuse .But as all items that are faulty are on the indicator stalk i would think its inside the indicator arm .

Check the body control module. all window functions are controlled by it.

IF the solenoid which activates the starter is not working, you would not be able to get the car to start with jumper cables (bump ?) So the problem could still be starter related. There are a lot of questions on FixYa about 'theft/immobilisers' and not a lot of answers. I hope yours is starter related.

Sounds like a thermostat sticking. Some things to do. First check coolant level is up and moving. Second (most likely), change thermostat. Very easy fix for backyard mechanic. Make sure to put thermostat in so water flow is correct direction. Look for arrow on side of thermostat. Next, is belt to water pump loose. Another easy fix in most cars.

Read the trouble codes for your automatic transmission using a scan tool. I like the wireless ELM327 OBD2 adapter and OBD Fusion app. The trouble codes will tell you why the transmissiion is putting the car in limp mode.

Get BMW Scanner 1.4 cable and software for Windows and read the ABS module trouble codes. They have some tine bonding wires inside thwt break over time from vibrartion and heat. Absolutely need to pull the codes and see what trouble is afoot before proceeding.

take it to an accredited auto transmission specialist shop and have the fault codes read indicates that the problem could be in the TCM or VSS sensor
