There is a second pump but it is mostly to provide heat to the cabin heater. It is mounted under the air filter assembly. To check it try this. Turn the ignition key to the 'On' position. With your feet OFF the pedals press the start button. This turns on the pump but not the engine. Turn the heat to Max and the fan to Low. Put you head near the air filter box and listen. If you can't hear the pump try this. Using an extra long screwdriver or a long thin metal rod rest one end on the pump and the other to your ear. You should be able to hear the pump running. *NOTE* It may be louder than you think. just a thought is the radio a kenwood if it is ther is yor problam . bmw dashes get verry hot and kenwoods dont like the heat i have had this problem more than once

Tire and rim? The rim may be different and hitting on the caliper. Slowly loosen the tire until it moves, then inspect the area of contact to see why it is binding.

Do you mean it won't automatically switch off after you turn, or do you mean it stays on, either flashing or just permanently on? If it's the 1st one "doesn't automatically switch off after turning" it sounds like your turn signal stalk is broken & needs replacing. If it's a case of the light just continuing to flash or stay on well then it could still be your signal stalk or the relay which times the lights to flash on & off. All these bits can be purchased for little money on eBay

When you disconnect the battery, it causes the anti-theft system pairing to break. On reconnecting the battery, the key and transponder chip need re-pairing. There are some ideas in the link, but with a BMW your best bet is to call a mobile auto-electrician or an auto locksmith. I would look for a leak and get it sealed before the boot section rots away.

Check there is power getting to the cluster and the ground point is good contact.

Hi, I purchased a 2006, BMW 750li 7 months ago..this car has 71,000 miles and I hardly drove it since buying it.However, I noticed that fluids was leaking and to my a long story short, I took it the the BMW dealership-they changed the oil pan, but the reason for going was because it started showing transmission fault, and when I put the gear in drive it jumps back to park-on top of a very hard jerk when I put into drive to drive off. I ask the dealer to re set the fault control, but the car is doing the same thing..anyone has a solution to this problem? The said I need a transmission, and it will cost $7,700.00

this could be due to a defective alarm sensor unit.

Give the dealership the VIN number and ask them to get you two keys and fobs. Get under the engine and connect a battery charger positive to the starter motor Red power wire, and the negative of the charger to the body. Then call the locksmith - auto electrician - alarm installer back and ask him to register the key to the anti-theft system. Then with the battery charger still connected, put a new fully charge battery into the vehicle. Job done. Or sell it for parts.

Hello again Sondra Simon Atkinson and I both answered your query and we both mention parasitic battery drain. None of us mentioned a 'battery reset' and as far as I am concerned, I have never heard of anything like that. A battery is an inert box of lead and acid that holds a charge that you put into it. If the alternator is charging the battery it will not be the fuse. The alternator would simply stop working if the fuse has blown. If the battery isn't holding charge you might have a power drain somewhere in the vehicle. Something in the electrics may not be turning off correctly and draining the battery. Do you have any warning lights on the dash? Have you access to an OBD2 scanner to check for any Trouble Codes? If it is a power drain the simplest fix is to get a good Auto Electrician to check the vehicle. Finding a power drain or an electrical short can be a real pain in the tail bone job because there is so much electronics on a car. Paying an expert to do it is a lot quicker and easier as they have the right tools to do it.
